Are there any good places nearby for brunch?

Going to Navarre for a wedding later this month and were looking for a spot for sunday brunch.

Any and all suggestions appreciated.

For the longest time the only places to eat on the mainland were fast food. That changed a few years ago when they finally legalized liquor by the drink in Santa Rosa county.

There are several new restaurants and hotels that have opened in recent years. I've eaten at the one in the new Publix shopping center but I can't recall the name of it. Check with the restaurant to be sure they serve alcohol on Sundays. The Santa Rosa liquor laws are still kinda quirky.

I was there last weekend. For brunch drive into Pensacola Beach and eat at Native Cafe. Stinky's Fish Camp ( a good place despite the name) also does a brunch and they are in Navarre.

Ive been going since i was a baby. Havent eaten out there in the last few years but alot has changed. Pensacola isnt far. If heading there id suggest driving down the beach, through the state park on the way there.

There is a place or two on the barrier island that i remember being ok but that was before i found f&db...i doubt those places are worthy but never know. In any case most restaraunts on the island have been there for years (since te tallest building in the island was a 4 story) and have character and good people owning them.

The bar at the end of the bridge is pretty cool
Publix has a good beer selection (liquor store next to it has a smaller selection but one or twi things publix doesnt have).

FYI: Jaws was filmed at Navarre Beach.

Have been going since the mid 80s, but have not been in two years. Navarre Beach has never been great for food on the island. There is Juana's, which does breakfast, but not really brunch. There is one restaurant at the foot of the bridge that has changed ownership a zillion times, but most incarnations have sucked.

They have opened a lot of newer stuff on the mainland as others have said, but I do not recall a brunch-type place. As mentioned previously, Pensacola is a better option, and it is a quick drive.

(Yes, it was Jaws 2 -- makes me nostalgic to see the Holidome in it's heyday. We stayed there the first few years we went.)

Me too. I didn't get to make a scene, though.

wow a few of us know the Holidome

I loved that hotel, it was a week every summer for me in my 6-16 years

they had a movie theatre in there too, was so cool, I think I saw Come Home Snoopy or something dumb like that one year

and YA who knows we may have splashed water on each other somewhere on the island

The shark that was caught in the original film Jaws but was not THE shark, was caught in Pensacola Bay.

Wow this unleashes a flood of memories. Holidome for me every year week of July 4th........loved the movie theater, remember the clown well, saw a pacman machine for the first time in the arcade and loved some soft serve in the "Yellow Submarine". Also some killer wiffle ball games in the open area where the clown did his thing. Good times.

And at nearby Destin as well. You can see Captain Dave's restaurant in the background of one scene. (the original Captain Daves next to AJs) One of the cleaning stations at the marina next to the restaurant has several Polariod photos of Jaws 2 filming.
