Who is an artist/group, new or old, that you know of that most won't?

Just trying to introduce the world to some great artists/groups that aren't being played on the radio. It can be any genre of music.
Here is one that I listened to growing up because they're from my hometown. Everyone loved this song at my high school!
BMC - Gangsta Vibe
If you listen to the song, it's pretty obvious of where I live.

The epitome of college rock in the mid 80's.
Great bands. Reminds me if the back of Rolling Stone magazine with the top albums, there was always a Top 10 College Chart.
I won't list all the 80's industrial/acid house/techno/new wave bands i listened too.

Not sure if this counts, but I'm always surprised that people don't realize this album exists...Derek and the Dominoes - layla and other love songs.
It was released in early 70s and went rather unnoticed at the time despite featuring Layla. Mainly bc clapton wanted to make music for music and not just the latest "clapton" album.
Imo, it features the greatest guitar play on any album, ever. Which makes sense when you pair 2 of the greatest guitarists, clapton & Duane allman and have them shred with an unlimited supply of heroin.
Every track is great, expect that last one. It's a piece of shite....Haha

One of my favorite bands of the past 20 years, that most in the United States are not familiar with are You Am I
Although, everyone in Australia knows them...
Also, Joel RL Phelps - awesome cover of Tom T Hall's Spokane Motel Blues

The Comas - Sweet Sweet 69
The Comas - Come My Sunshine
I have no idea who gave me one of their albums but I had it on my iTunes one day and decided to try em out. I have been a huge fan since, bought all their albums, and love the majority of their songs. The lead singer has a side project now called Electric Owls. I keep hoping for a new Comas record but its been 5 years since the last and no news at all.

Smooth pure southern rock, with a little bluegrass.
They were pretty big for a while there in the 90s and I'm not sure if southern rock describes their sound, not just because they are from Minnesota

redd volkaert & cindy cashdollar.
redd used to play guitar for merle haggard. he's master of the tele. cindy is probably one of the best pedal steel players out there.
home in san antone
i'd be willing to bet that most people that live in louisiana aren't aware that the best slide player in the world is one of their own.

If you've never listened to Close Lobsters, check these guys out. Their first album "Foxheads Stalk This Land", is a masterpiece.

If it isn't southern rock, there isn't such a thing.

There is an Aussie singing country music, it's still country music.

had more than one single... Just saying they were kinda big, relatively speaking
I'd say more of a roots rock sound...may be splitting hairs, but I just dont hear the southern rock... their harmonies remind me more of a california sound, than anything
country doesnt specify which one...
I agree with you in the sense that they are very good and was very glad to hear mark olsen was back in the fold...
