Yelling "JACK HUNT!" when you happen to see Jim Hawthorne in person

... on a scale of 1 to 10 how douchey of a move is this now nearly ten years later?
I saw it happen last year and I still chuckled like a frat boy to be honest.

Kinda middle schoolish

a 20. Seriously? How stupid can you be to still rag the guy.
Yesterday during the Elite Eight game between Kansas and North Carolina Marv Albert said,"the winner of this game goes to the Elite Eight."

Every time "Jack Hunt" (Dev) catches a TD I yell Jack Hunt.

I can't remember which game it was, but whoever it was had the ball in the final seconds and took 2 or 3 3 pointers on one possession while they were down by 3. On all those shots, he kept saying, "FOR THE LEAD!!!"

I think it was the Florida game.

guy said that TWICE.
John Ward, one of the greatest PBP guys in SEC if not NCAA history on the last play of the 1991 Tennessee-Notre Dame game while Tennessee attempting a game winning field goal on the last play of the game said, "the kick is in the air and its no good..WAIT ,THE KICK IS GOOD, THE KICK IS GOOD !"
I'm not some Hawthorne fan where he does no wrong, but give the guy some slack on that play, especially almost ten years later.

what about asking him to sign 10 copies of Country Memories?

That's bush league. Jim may be an idiot sometimes, but he's our idiot.

Never gets old. He botched one of LSU's most memorable plays of all time. Jim rehearses his "big" lines before they happen, particularly his lines after winning a championship (cheesy shite like Jim Nance does). When he must go on the fly, he is a tongue tied idiot that has no idea whats going on.

And he also said Williams was Kansas' coach in '88 when KU won the championship when the coach was Larry Brown.

I saw some fat fricking douchebag do this couple yrs ago at road game in auburn
I said something to him in front of a ton of people.
Dude was embarrassed as he should have been.
Douchebags are everywhere. I've accepted it.
Nothing says "I suck" worse than trying to be funny and striking out.

To be fair, Jack does look a lot of Devery on the football field.
Seriously tho, Jim deserves every bit of ridicule he receives (even 10yrs later). The game (especially football & baseball where e really has to use his eyes) passed him by a long time ago. Time to pass the torch to someone new (like Hanagriff for baseball). I'm afraid his ego won't let him do that. He'll probably die in office like a supreme court judge.

His call in the game doesn't nearly piss me off as much as LSU re-writing history be having Jim re-cut the correct call after the game was over... and now you hear Jim's fake call of the Bluegrass Miracle every time they run it.

Wow, might be just a tad too strong, huh? I like Jim and have found him to be plenty competent enough to enjoy listening to for well over 20 years. I don't understand why so many find it fashionable to hate on Jim.

I kind of wish Bill Franques didn't do PA for home baseball games, I really like the work he does when we play on the road.
