But where do you draw the line of competitive/uncompetitive?

If season ticket holders are willing to give up their tickets just to go to court and fight for that one year's worth of money, than they might have a go. But I certainly am not giving my tickets up for one year of mediocrity, no matter how unfair it is. The Saints will still be competitive, but probably not as competitive as we thought. Not sure if it'll be enough to win a lawsuit.

some sort of discount/refund? That $500,000 fine

I've already paid half of my season ticket price, I think it would be fair for the Saints to not make us pay the second half. Hell, we'll only be seeing half the team we paid to see

How about the message going out last week demanding payment for the remainder of the season ticket? If the NFL announced the suspension prior to this message going out surely some season ticket holders would have backed out. In Goddell's words, if he didn't know, he should have.

If the Saints lose Brees over this, the impact may go well beyond the 2012 season.

Was just watching the taking heads on ESPN...they are showing cips of hits during the season, and every single one was a legal hit. I just don't get it, Goodell is now fining payers for legal hits.

With this punishment, and the on going trend of the pussification of the NFL, I am now seriously considering how intersted am I in investing 3 hours to watch an NFL game. It has become a watered down version of a once great game and it is a shame.

What should have happened was "fan representation" at the contract talks. They cried back and forth between the owners and players for months about money when they have been overcharging and screwing the fans for years.

I suggest you look into the entire agreement, obligations and warranties, express or implied, between ticket purchaser and the team (each a franchisee of the NFL and subject to its conditions).

A cause of action on the part of ticketholders in this case seems to me to be a pipedream.

Where did that message come from? I never got one of those. I have until June to pay for the rest of my season tickets.

You are an idiot. You have to have standing to sue someone.
