PFT

quote:

Jay Glazer said on NFL Network that he interviewed Payton immediately after the news came down, and NFL Commissioner Roger Goodell’s punishment is far more severe than Payton was expecting.

quote:

“I did talk to him and he’s stunned to say the least,” Glazer said. “I think the entire team thought maybe there’d be a four-game suspension, but not a year. I said, ‘Are you OK?’ And he said, ‘No, I’m not OK.’ He is stunned. He’s going to lose about $8 million. He is beside himself here.”

As he should be. Goodell is just the worst. I didn't like him when he took over. He botched that entire first draft pretty bad. He was stumbling all over himself. I knew then he sucked.

Maybe he will come out guns a blazing next year and we go 23-0

or maybe he'll come out guns a blazing within the next few weeks and take out Goodell.

Maybe we should send him a fruit basket or something.
No seriously.

I still love the guy.

The Coaches Union will appeal this.

Its not over.

(Accept, unfortunately, the appeal is to Goodell)

Lying shouldn't warrant an $8 million fine and having your livelihood completely taken away

The amount is irrelevant. If I lied at my work, I would be terminated immediately and I would probably have a hard time finding work. What is the difference?

So does that mean that Goodell should be reprimanded for being an enormous hypocrite?

I wonder how forthcoming Goodell was after their meetings about what would happen? Or was it just a "thanks for coming in, we'll let you know"?

by whom would he be reprimanded?

I don't think some of you get it. Private Club, their rules, they can enforce them as they choose and that's that

We win super bowl despite this. Payton walks up to podium and hits Goddell with the Lombardi!!! During the presentation.
