Reality shows, for the most part, are crap. But there are a few decent one's out there. I've always liked The Amazing Race. For some reason I have started watching Rattlesnake Republic on Animal Planet. Those are the only 2 that I try to watch on a regular basis. Are there, if any, reality shows you like to watch.

Nope. I can't stand reality television. The only reality show that I watched the full season of was the first season of Top Shot and that was because Blake Miguez was from my hometown.
I can't stand watching any show where they show people getting in fake fights with each other, have emotional breakdowns on camera, etc. I just don't give a crap. Why the hell should I care that Fabio ate your cheerios and stole your hair gel? I don't care what you think. STFU.
My old roommate got me to watch one episode of Jersey Shore. I felt dumber afterwards. I find it painful to watch idiots who are praised for being idiots.
I tend to find myself watching either movies, cartoons, sports, or the occasional TV show like Walking Dead or Supernatural.

The problem is they call them reality shows, when they are staged or directed to act certain ways to get ratings.

Loving some Full Metal Jousting right now.

I've been watching the Voice and Full Metal Jousting
That's about it.
How you people can sit there and watch people live in a house together and do nothing but cry, bitch, and moan at each other is beyond me.

Does Kitchen Nightmares or Hells Kitchen count?

It has become way too cool to hate on reality tv. I think there are a handful of shows out there that give reality shows a bad name. I also think it depends on your definition of reality shows.
If you're only talking about shows where they throw some people in a setting and claim that we're watching reality, I'll agree they all pretty much suck.
If you broaden that to include stuff like Amazing Race, Food Network, and lots of other stuff, I could name some enjoyable shows.
If a competition like Amazing Race is "reality tv", wouldn't every game show also be? What about LSU football, hopefully that's unscripted tv. Last season of that show was an all time great with the exception of the finale, but lots of great shows have had crap finales.

How do you define reality tv? Meaning is Survivor reality tv? Is Dirty Jobs?
Or is reality tv just the kardashians, jersey shore, real world, bachelor?
I think Idol, survivor, amazing race shouldn't be lumped in with the trash.

Those shows are no different than old school American gladiators or that obstacle course show that used to come on abc Saturday afternoons back in the 80s
They are like game shows for the new age.
Jersey Shore and the like is what I call reality tv. The horror that is bachelor, caged etc.
People who watch those shows are morons, I don't care how they try to justify it.

There are at least four different categories.
Dirty Jobs, Hell's Kitchen, Bar Rescue, and those type of shows I don't even consider "reality shows". They are just TV shows with real people and not actors.
Survivor, Fear Factor, Wipe Out, etc.
I would consider those more like game shows. If they win a prize at the end, it is really just game show evolution.
Kardashians, Jersey Shore, Housewives, etc. IMO are the only real reality shows because the camera literally follows then around and the audience watches them live. Obviously, they are edited as well as put in certain situations or attend events for the show, because who wants to watch someone play video games or watch tV for hours.
Those shows I have no need for.
I don't know what to call shows like Pawn Stars and Storage Wars that are trying to pass themselves off as reality but are clearly staged and scripted to anyone with a lick of sense. Oddly enough, I like a few of these types of shows, even though I know they are full of it.

I heard a guy got kicked off for punching a horse, who knew that Sarah Jessica Parker was making a cameo.

Even those shows are scripted. I'm not sure there are any real "reality shows".
