Did anyone else see the workers out there today taking down the "Tiger Stadium" entrance sign on the west side of the stadium? There were also guys out there working with the chain link fencing, so I'm guessing the TS renovations are beginning.

About the expansion, how set in stone do you think Alleva's ideas are right now? I'm still assuming they're at least looking at multiple ideas and designs rather than pushing one thing forward.

As I said, I saw the plans, but it wasn't any renderings. Just basic scales outlining where the suites and stadium club would be situated. The suites, if memory serves, were below the stadium club seating. Didn't look at it too long. Everyone on the rant has in their head this total wrap-around in which anything that doesn't add 15,000 general admission seating is a fail. Well, demand isn't there for that type of general seating and I'm happy we're adding seats.

I would like to see capacity expanded to 100,000. Hope they increase the number by 500.

If it looks good, improves the stadium as a whole, and fits the demand, I'm happy with it. But a big part of me would still just like to see TS hit 100,000 just for the hell of it.

I completely agree that there is absolutely no need for an expansion that brings TS's capacity to 110,000+ like some have mentioned.

TAF modified the west upper deck at great expense and one of the specific design goals was to allow the south end zone to wrap around. Prior to that time the elevations were not the same between east and west.

If Alleva is throwing that concept out the window, then he's going against the plan. Personally, I'm beginning to wonder if the guy is capable of an intelligent decision and I am also pretty certain he is completely out of touch with what the fans want. I think those that hired him made a bad hire. jmho.

I just want to know if my seats in sectin 419 are going to be affected. And if we will NOT have to move, will there be an overhang??? We are about 6 or 7 rows from the top. eta: with my luck if there is an overhang we will be under the freaking drip line!

I'm really disappointed in many of the design choices being made to Tiger Stadium. LSU is not embracing the original look and feel of Tiger Stadium. It's a shame because we have such an iconic college football stadium. They should be protecting by wrapping around the upper deck. I hate the newer cosmetic look of the outside of the stadium. They could have done a much better job of the two upper deck additions on the outside of the stadium.

If I remember correctly, the SEZ expansion is supposed to embrace and fit with the architecture of the north side of Tiger Stadium.

I hope you "renderings" are wrong but I fear that it will not even be close to a complete enclosure

The demand is not there for 10,000+ more general admission seats with an awful view of the field. It's also not about what the "fans" want. It's about what will make LSU the most profit. Top it out at 100k and be done with it. I would much rather them spend money on renovating the lower bowl.

I oppose it all. Higher TAF fees. Probably higher season ticket prices. Worse parking. More corporate ticket ownership and priority points accumulation for post season games. A very ugly design, and we will no longer be able to see the smoke stack on the SE side of the stadium. Sucks on all fronts in my opinion.

i heard 2 levels of suites, one level of club and a 1,500 seat upper deck on top that will seat 1000 visiting fans.

Absolutely. It makes no sense to expand the stadium to 99,500. Find a way to add 500 more seats and make it 100,000.
