I saw him in a spring photo gallery from Friday's practice.

I hope Rocky D is our DB coach in 15 years, with Johns in charge of linebackers.

It would only be natural for a coach on the field to become a real coach down the road.

Tough break, but he was a non contributor whose most notable moment as a Tiger was kicking a guy with JJ. Addition by subtraction IMO

This shows how well many of the "posters" on the Rant are clued in.

Johns was with the 2's, going to get some nice playing time if he remained healthy.

DC believed him to be the most athletic of the LB's. Strong coverage capability due to speed.

Sad to see him go. Kid is a class act.

If by 2's you meant 3's then you're correct. He played on kickoffs but couldn't beat out at least 6 other LBs for playing time. So in a 2-6-3 formation, maybe he is a 2nd string guy.

Only thing that kept him off the field as a LBer were repeated injuries.

If you don't think so. Talk to K Sheppard or R Baker. Both thought he was the best SAM LBer on the team and not for injuries would have been playing.

1. DJ Welter is still on the team right?

2. I would definitely follow Rocky on twitter is he was on.

Yes he is on the team, look for him to push Minter this year and get some solid PT. And start on most if not all of the special teams, another class act guy.
