I know they may not exist in the very near future, but they won their 7th straight conference tournament championship tonight. They are currently ranked 14th in the NAIA and beat 7th ranked Our Lady of the Lake 111-101. I don't care what level of college basketball it is, 7 in a row is pretty damn impressive.

They'll be alright. The admin is dipping into every fund possible to keep the AD afloat.

The Tech / LSUS merger may hurt their chances of staying around

when you win 7 in a row, it's pretty much the definition of a weak conference

is this just college you base this broad statement on??

The top 6-7 teams in the RRAC are good.
A few years ago LSUS beat Mcneese, Southeastern, and Northwestern State in the same season. They put up 80 on Arkansas and played LSU(the final 4 team) close.....for 5 minutes

LSU-S - NSU
LSU-S v McNeese
They send a few guys to pro leagues in Europe every year. I've always wondered if LSU would try to scoop up Mcdowell as an asst. He's a young, energetic coach that coaches an exciting style of basketball

They have a guard, Shine, that could play for LSU right now (and a lot of other teams).

ETA: they both played for Minden at the same time

Shreveport, La. – Minden High School’s Derrick Parker signed a letter-of-intent to play basketball at Louisiana State University in Shreveport, it was announced today by Head Coach Chad McDowell.
Parker, a 6’6 forward, was a two-year starter at Minden High School. As a senior, Parker averaged 26 points, 14 rebounds and 5 blocks, while helping Minden High to their second consecutive District 1-4A title. He earned first-team All-State honors, and was also named the District 1-4A and Webster Parish MVP following his senior season. The Shreveport Times also selected Parker as a member of their All-Area team.
“We are very excited about the addition of Derrick Parker to our basketball family here at LSUS,” said McDowell. “Derrick comes from a great high school program with a lot of tradition and a very good coach in Alan Shaw.”
In addition to his outstanding athletic achievements, Parker has maintained a 4.0 GPA in the classroom. As a result of his athletic and academic accomplishments, he was named to the 2008 Academic All-State team.
“Derrick is what we consider a total package,” added McDowell. “He is an extremely good student, and a very talented basketball player that will have the opportunity to contribute immediately as a true freshman.”
Parker chose LSUS over several NCAA Division 1 offers, including Centenary, Weber State and Cornell.
