If LSU fails to make the NCAA Tourney at the end of the season do you start looking for a new coach? Even if he makes the NIT.

I think if LSU is patient with TJ he returns LSU basketball to consistent quality. His first year he had established players and did well with them. But his choice as coach made several players change their commitments and he is just now building a program that can compete.

Remember Coach K at Duke had a 38-47 record his first three years after inheriting a well-established program from Bill Foster (1978 NCAA runner-up to KY). Coach K did not get to the NCAA until his FOURTH season and finished 7th in the ACC in his third season.

I think if we give TJ three more years he will have us consistently in the NCAA.

You can have all these opinions about the job TJ has done but its hard to fire a coach with

1) An SEC Title
2) A sudden upward trend in winning percentage.

I'm glad you showed us that you're not really an LSU fan but just some troll.

I think he stays around.

I'm still on the fence with him. The last two years have been miserable, but I can see the direction he's taking the team.

However, I still don't see us being great next year. If we could land a stud SG that could score at will, then we'd be in a better spot.

He's locked in for next year. Dumb thread.

Is it just me, or does anyone else have to put the closed captions on when TJ is talking to try and understand what he is saying.

Amazing note on Coach K at Duke (see my post above) is that his last season at Army his team went:

9-17

And Duke hired him and stuck with him.
Legend.

I'm not TJ's keeper. This is not to imply that I had, have, or will have anything to do with his demise.

Tj has done enough in Aleva's mind to secure his job next year. I said last year he needed to play 500 in the SEC and that he will do

The question is whether or no Aleva will give him another contract extension or a new contract at season's end

What say Ye?

Johnson is finally getting the program how he wants it. I think we need to give him 3 more seasons before we start considering firing him.

If we reach postseason play, he remains.

Rumor according to Jordy who is usually spot on since he deals with Trent with the TV show is that Alleva will make him hire someone with LA ties - no names mentioned but by all accounts Trent will be back with adding someone with local ties to help with recruiting.

if they win a game in the NIT, certainly give him one more year. I find the fundamentals of this team solid. They actually aren't terrible at shooting free throws.
