New Browning A5 field test

Anybody pickup Browning's new A5 and hunt with it this past season?
Curious to know what the OB thinks of it. I'm really contemplating getting one before next hunting season. An A5 was what I grew up hunting ducks, doves, squirrels, etc. with and was sad to see when they stopped making them. The old models were amazingly durable guns.
I've been shooting the Browning Gold Hunter now for about 10 years and while it's a great gun, I'd love to go back to the A5 style.
Only thing I don't like is it seems they only offer it in a 30" barrel, would like a 28"

Pretty sweet teaser video

You can buy the 28" and 26" barrel for 400 dollars.

Talked to a guy in Lafayette Shooters a few months ago who said it would be summer before they got any on the shelves.

It looks like my old B-80. That was the most temperamental shotgun I ever held to my shoulder. If it got cloudy it would start jamming....
I don't think I could own it b/c it would bring back such terrible memories.

A5 was the first gun I bought... seems it was about $500 at Security in about 1979... I ran across the original box in my garage last week.
I was as proud as a 15 year old can be...
but I've never been able to shoot it worth a damn.

...well besides it not being able to swim during Katrina. Now I have a natural camo barrel.

TURNKEY MAGAZINE PLUS
The patented TurnKey Magazine Plug is easily removed in seconds using a vehicle key, allowing the magazine plug to be removed in mere seconds.
Ummm. The A5 may have gotten a bit more acceptable for a bunch of people that are plug averse...
I do like the recoil operated system. I wonder if it will be an easier gun to maintain since there won't be any gas cycling through it? Kind of like a Mini-14/AK vs. AR platform.

I would have to think it will be much eaiser to maintain with no gas cylinder. Less cleaning for sure.

They're basically using the inertia system like in the Benelli shotguns.

If it would have been the original design, i would be interested.

I see alot of them still going boom

Hate the feel of the action. I want my barrel to stay still. YMMV.

I love the action. I have an old 11-48 which has almost the exact same action. I love it.
