He is a great prospect...to say he is the best prospect ever is ridiculous.

Why? Can you give me any reasoning? At this point, it has been widely circulated that Luck is the best prospect since Elway. From what I have read and watched him play, to say Andrew Luck is the best prospect ever is that not an unreasonable statement. It is only an opinion.

Jeff George was also the best prospect ever and we see how that turned out.

Irrelevant.

To that point, how is he better, at this point in his career, than Matt Stafford leaving UGA three years ago? Stafford is a very good NFL QB that has been slowed by injuries. He has a better arm than Luck, similar intellect and played for three years in a better conference against better competition.

I completely agree. I usually reference Stafford when having this discussion. There's not much of a difference in their production, talent level and potential IMO.

Did Stafford run Georgia's offense from the line of scrimmage? Or did Richt and Co. call the plays?

And that is why you are not a NFL GM.

To that point, what evidence can you point to that Luck will be a better player than Newton? You say that Luck is a more proven prospect and a safer pick due to his potential. Yet Newton has proven himself on the field at the highest level. Given what Newton has already proven he can do, how can you say that Luck is without a doubt the better prospect? Because Mel Kiper says so?

I think Luck will be more of a Bradford than a Stafford IMO

Oh, I guess that means you are the NFL GM and are qualified to tell us the right answers without the need of others questioning your opinion. You are an NFL GM, right? Otherwise, you wouldn't feel the need to tell others the reasons as to why they aren't NFL GM's. Get over yourself.

He's going to the Colts by all appearances so I doubt he'll be able to turn that dumpster fire into a 4K yard season

He may or may not throw as many picks as Cam but he won't have as good of a season overall as Cam had

Stop using hindsight.

Cam's days as a prospect ends when he becomes a pro. Yes, Cam was terrific in his rookie year, but that does not affect how he was judged as a prospect.

Luck is the superior prospect because he is more polished, runs his complex offense by himself at the line (which is astounding), played in a pro style system, and has no known weaknesses as a prospect.

Cam was a really good prospect with incredible athletic ability and high upside. He has proven he is a good NFL QB, but that is not part of this discussion.

So all GMs have that opinion?

Some teams would take RGIII over Luck.

Eh, I am currently just an assistant GM.

The problem is that people on this site do not understand hindsight bias.

Well the colts were a 10-6 team in 2010, and 14-2 the year before that. They started out 13-0 that year. They had a lot of key injuries last year(Manning, Clark, Addai, etc.). They aren't loaded by any means, but they're not completely devoid of talent. Although Carolina had better RB's, it's not a lot different from the Panthers' situation last year.
