So I got Steam today and decided to get TF2. Anybody know if it's any good or worth the download that takes for fricking ever

The reason it is such a large file is because of the 1000 updates the game has received since it released.

FACT: One of the best multiplayer games ever.

i play tf2 pretty regularly, for a game of its age valve still puts in a lot of work to keep it up to date and fun.... its takes forever to download anything off of the steam servers.... that's just life

It's funny how patches in TF2 are more like the way they are in MMOs, with veterans of each class seeing who is going to get nerfed or buffed. It has a bit of an RPG quality to it that gives it some depth.
I haven't played it in a long time... when I did, it was on a private server against the same people most of the time. It's interesting when you are nearly always familiar with both your teammates and enemies.

Yup.
Just the sheer amount of statistical importance in the game is crazy. And the interesting weapons.

Yup. I roam servers from time to time, but it's actually far more interesting with a core group.

on a side note... ive put in maybe 3-4 hrs last few days and have seen at least 15 of those rings go off... at $100 a pop valve is making a killing
