We saw a ton of frogs the last weekend of rifle season. No way it should be warm enough for that shite.

I don't really know. I can honestly say I have never checked a frog season. I just put that as a disclaimer so nobody would give me shite if it was a sick bird(ill eagle)

Yea frog season is only closed April and May, although I have heard that is the best time to go. They are mating and you can catch two at a time.

I've done best in February. They are out even in the cold, and don't move very well. Hand grab FTW.

Thats the only way i do it. I've heard of people shooting them with pellet guns and pickong them up in a pee-row.

I only do it one other way. Sometimes where we frog when the water gets real high we simply cant get back to them to grab them with our hands. I take a jig pole with a small fly on it and jig it right in front of them, most of the time it is just to much for them to pass up. They gulp it in and voila a frog that was once not catchable is in the bucket.

Caught 57 this weekend. Could have caught about 200, but most of them were small. 57 keepers. This is the best time, IMO, to go frogging. Doesn't matter if it is cold.

Also, for any of you betches that "gig" a frog, grow a pair

I am typically waaaaay to inebriated to be even somewhat accurate swinging a paddle at a frog.
