I just don't know how it's possible to top this.

Rebel Fleet/ Ending Credits

A seamless, striking medley of some of the trilogy's most iconic leitmotifs.

The short but incredible "Lighting the Beacons" sequence from Return of the King is a strong entry too.

Howard Shore's best work

I refuse to shy away from the most effective themes or composers just because they are "obvious". John Williams is the best of all time when it comes to traditional symphonic scores.

THIS!!
Blade Runner Opening

Sets the atmosphere for the whole movie.

Oh and I agree about 'ecstacy of gold'..but also the follow into 'the trio' which is equally awesome.

Agreed... the shot of Leia and Luke looking out of the window of the hospital ship is classic. This score makes it only better.

No love for Fletch or Beverly Hills Cop themes? Perfect 80s synthesizers that you can't get out of your head.

Okay I realize it's nowhere near the "best from any movie, ever" but I have to give a nod to Freddie Mercury and Queen doing "New York, New York" while the Kurgan kidnaps the girl, sings along and smashes pedestrians on the streets of New York.

That's up there with Jaws as foreboding iconic.

If you walked into the ocean and heard the Jaws theme you'd freak...

If you walked into a neighbor's house and heard Goodbye Horses blaring and a tiny dog barking - you'd probably leave immediately.
