Anyone been yet?

I've been twice. Went once on opening day and again last night (Archie was walking the dining room). Both times the food and a service have been really great. Much, much, much better place than Walk-on's.

Had the burger on the first go around and was pretty impressed. Last night I had the Mac-N-Cheese with brisket along with a tasty Abita Beer and cheese soup. Another cool touch is the bread which is served with a jalapeno butter.

They did a really nice job with the dining room too. Not obnoxious like many sports bars. Very nice colors, decor, etc. Again much nicer than Walk-on's.

Just got back.
Service was fantastic. Food was better than I thought it would be.
The pork fries were very good and enormous.
Mirliton dressing was not very good. Not enough bread.
Boudreaux's pie was interesting/weird but very good.
Zapps encrusted drum was just okay. Crust was too thick and the drum was a little dry (but not fishy)
I enjoyed the meal as a whole and would go back.
My biggest complaint: NO DRAFT BEER.
Much better food and atmosphere than Walk On's.

What the hell? That kind of sucks. I was thinking they would have some good beer.

I've never heard of a sports bar with no draft beer, that's kind of weird.

I agree that the service is really impressive. Especially for opening week with the crowds they've been having. I don't understand how they're right on the money with service and Vitascope at Hyatt has several more weeks on them and they have horrible service.

Tip: If you want to eat here right now you'll want to make reservations for sure. When I went Thursday night a couple had just walked in before us and they weren't seated until we got our bill because the didn't have reservations. However because of my reservations we were seated in less than 30 seconds. I heard last Saturday night they had a 2-3 hour wait for tables with no guarantee of a table after waiting that long. Reservations can be made online.

Made mine on Open Table an hour before and was seated immediately while the wait was 2.5 hours

I didn't see an Eli Pot Pie... But the filet that is on the billboard is freaking awesome. It's got a Southern Comfort/Cane Syrup sauce under the steak that was off the hook.

No, but Peyton's Super Bowl Pick is their daily soup selection.

How is the atmosphere compared to Walk Ons?

Which has more TVS? Which has hotter waitresses?

Are the 2 places going for the same or different demographic? And if it is the same, Can both of these places survive?

Not exactly. Mannings is going for a demographic that actually wants decent food in a sports bar.

Mannings will make a fricking mint because of location and its Harrah's connection.

Well I've always been a fan of the Mannings and I'll try the joint eventually but ain't no way in hell I'm waiting 2-3 hours for Eli's pot pie or a burger. If I'm waiting that long Thomas Keller better be in the kitchen.
