Blood Reign: Curse of the Yoma.
It's probably not as good as I remember, but this entranced me as a youngin. Blood and demons.
Eta: another one is Guyver: the Bioboosted Armor

Ok so I started a "Is Trigun the Best Anime of All-Time" thread a long time ago. You and a couple others made it a pretty good discussion.
I have now watched Trigun and Samurai Champloo. LOVED both of them. Tried to watch FLCL because it was highly recommended by the guy that referee the other two to me. I literally wanted to kill myself during the first episode. It physically hurt me to watch an episode. All that being said, what do y'all think I should watch next? Also, let me say that I'm not in to spiritism and demonistic stuff. I read about Death Note and it sounded tight but I just cant do that stuff it's just not my thing. Ok so now what should I watch next? Let me say this too, I'm pretty much only going to be able to watch it if it's on Netflix. Unless I borrow a DVD from somebody that has it. That being said, what should I watch next? I'm not a big anime guy or adult cartoon guy in general so it needs to be good or I'm just going to be mad at you for recommending it to me. Now, what do y'all think I should watch next? I don't have all that much free time even though I'm on break so I don't dig stuff that is over maybe three season, that's just too much of an investment you know? What are y'all thinking in regards to what I should watch next? Just you know, recccommending something, I'm pretty easy to work with.

Also, this show is pretty long but you may really enjoy it. It's called Monster. LINK
Pretty intense and has some pretty universal love attached. MyAnimeList (site linked above) is the best site to find new stuff (whether it be info, air times, who to download from, etc.) and to keep track of things you're interested in as well as what you've seen. Highly recommend it.

Berserk, Hellsing, Wolf's Rain(if you're feeling emo), Cowboy Bebop is easy to pick up and put down.
I posted the link to Berserk on youtube above.

If you like Trigun, I'd recommend you watch Great Teacher Onizuka. It's a little long (43 episodes), but it's the funniest media I've ever had the pleasure of watching. It's a good enough show that I've shown to friend who don't really like anime at all and they've all come away laughing and enjoying it. LINK
Onizuka is easily one of the coolest characters of all time. Lots of personality similarities with him and Vash.

FLCL is one of a kind. I like it, but I definitely know it isn't for everyone.
As for recommendations, I'd recommend Cowboy Bebop if you liked Trigun and Samurai Champloo. It's not on Netflix though.
As for Netflix only, try these:
Darker than Black (1st season only)
Canaan
Noir
Soul Eater
If you like zombies, there is Highschool of the Dead. Be prepared for real heavy fan service though. Some people can't get passed that. I found it hilarious. It's also only 12 episodes so you can get through it quick.
Try those and then let me know. There are a bunch of really good ones not on Netflix. If you see something on Netflix you think you might be interested in, let me know and I'll tell you what I thought.

I watched this.. after about 10 episodes in I noticed I would start losing interest during episodes and would wander off in my own mind.. but it did pick back up later on and got pretty good again.

watched some scenes on YouTube, and ended up watching a compilation video of badass anime scenes, one of which was a very disturbing scene from a series called Elfen Lied.
I think I've seen the exact video you are talking about, or one very similar. You should definitely watch Akira if you haven't yet.

You should watch Berserk. Doesn't get more dark, twisted, and sad than Berserk.
Iwy,
You said you don't like demonistic stuff, so as much as I hate to say it because I think it's the best anime story I've ever seen, you can probably throw out Berserk. Though the anime doesn't have a whole hell of a lot of that until the end. And be prepared for a cliffhanger ending.
From netflix, I would recommend Basilisk for ninja stuff, or samurai 7 if you are into Kurosawa.

Also wanted to share this for anyone who may interested in finding and keeping track of shows. MyAnimeList is by far the best database to navigate through. Highly recommend it. You can also use it to keep track of which episode you're on, what you've seen, and it compiles a good bit of statistics based on it all.

Anybody mess around on Crunchyroll? I have the app on my phone and Roku and it has tons of stuff. Been watching the old-school Fist of the North Star on it and just finished the first arc.

Has there been any word on Bleach returning anytime soon? It would be a complete mistake if they do not allow this final arc to be made. The manga is fantastic right now along with the Naruto.
****SPOILER**** pictures in bleach and naruto manga
sasuke back in konoha
Unohana Retsu showing her true colors
these are from the chapters that came out 2 weeks ago i believe

I've got a membership. It's the best place to stream (with membership). iPhone app works well as do the console apps. It's not very expensive, but unless you want to watch airing shows, then it may not be for you. They're generally released within minutes or a day of the Japanese air time.

Suppose to be off for a few years so that they don't have to make fillers anymore. Definitely enjoying the manga right now though a lot of people on bleach exile are hating on it.

Yes it is girly but Ouran High School Host Club is hilarious.
School Rumble made me laugh harder than most television shows do.

What does a membership have that the iphone and roku app doesn't? Both seem to have entire series of stuff for me to watch. More than I'll ever end up actually getting to.

1. Simucasts. You get to watch it when it airs in Japan with subtitles.
2. HD content. Nearly every new show is streamable in 1080p.
Without the membership, you're limited to SD broadcasts and you have to wait a week in order to watch new episodes.
