$9.5 million? I'm glad the real estate bubble is still alive and well with the rich and ignorant...

No surprise that I zipped that one right by you.
He has every right to spend that much money on a house. That doesn't make it a wise investment.

Obviously not. I mean, he only has him, his wife, and his 3 year old son to put a roof over there head. But with the money he is making from his contract plus endorsements, it's not like this is going to handcuff him financially. If you had that kind of money, I'm sure you make some luxurious purchases that aren't a necessity.

This.
I'd be curious to know exactly what the percentage of his annual income is devoted to this house and compare it to what people on this board are shelling out.
If I had that kind of money, I'd buy a house like that. Most of you would too. Either that or buy something just as expensive and unnecessary.

I personally can't see spending that much money on a home that doesn't have a basketball court, but that's just me. I mean, it's in the suburbs.. but I guess he doesn't need the space since his "office" is essentially unfettered access to the Clippers' facilities.

I Think he is saying that house doesn't look like it is worth 9.5 million.. hence the remark about the bubble. (If I am off base, oh well.. that's how I read it)

The person who designed that house needs to jump off a cliff

i don't get it. never have. you have that much money, just build your dream house (i bet it costs less than $9.5 million too)

Bel Air isn't what I would call the suburbs.
As far as "building your own house", there isn't that much available land in Bel Air, Beverly Hills or Hollywood (he isn't like some of you guys; he actually wants to live IN L.A.)
It's a perfectly nice Mediterranean style home. It's over fricking 12,000 square feet. The price doesn't surprise me one bit in Bel Air.
