Also as depressing as, "The Movie / TV board" from 2002.

If not, it's pretty damn close.

I think of it as the single-best anti-drug PSA out there.

Be honest. You heard something about Jennifer Connely and a "double-donger"

There are far more depressing movies.

Personally I think basketball diaries is just as depressing. Trainspotting is pretty bad as well.

But for me it's The Road.

That movie makes you have a knot in your stomach and you feel like you have a black cloud over your head following you around for a few hours

Selby (the guy who wrote it) is a twisted dude. I've read some of his other books... I like them but he's crazy. Pretty sure he offed himself.

eta: nevermind. he died of heart problems and wiki says he was a caring father & grandfather.

Trainspotting at least has some humor to it to help you get through to the end.

Requiem is pretty bleak across the board.

One of the worst movies I've ever seen. Yet some people bust a nut over it

Damn

I like the guy that did the score to that movie, Clint Mansell. I think he does the best movie scores out of anyone these days. Odd considering that he was originally the front man for a Scottish industrial rock band called Pop Will Eat Itself.

He seems to be the guy in almost every Darren Aronofsky film that does the score.

The score for The Fountain is one of the greatest movie scores of all time IMO

One I find to be about as depressing to watch is Midnight Cowboy.
