Dude will get paid. I don't think the Saints can pay him Jahri money. He will command more.

that's why we need to get Brees' contract done asap so we can get him for 1 more year

Franchise him. If someone wants to pay him more than the franchise, we will just have to take their first round pick and get Brockers.

The same guy that said our OC had interviewed when he hadn't? Don't believe all these fools or we'll have a rant meltdown on our hands in here

Has anyone noticed how much worse Schefter's information has been since he left NFLN for ESPN?
Glazer and LaCanfora seem to be much more reliable.

It's really just an opinion. If Drew's deal is not close to being done, i'd say 80% chance Nicks is gone.

He retweeted this morning that Carmichael did in fact interview in Oak

I will throw up if he leaves.

and a valid one. Nicks WILL be the most sought after OL, and this means he will command big $
This isn't about a "source" as much as it is about seeing the obvious

Seriously? It's pretty obvious Nicks will be the big FA Olineman man. I think he's gone. Don't think can nor will we pay him. Great guard but it's almost like everyone we plug in goes to the pro-bowl on the line...save Olin Kreutz

Couple things here of my genius mind. You don't want to lose Nicks for nothing. You don't want to lose Nicks to help protect Drew and this offense. Moral of the story. Pay Nicks. Give him the highest contract ever for a guard. Blow your wad on your guards and bank on servicable OT's for the offense. Maybe a 6 yr 60 mill deal or if you want to pay him a 2 year 23 million deal and let him hit free agency again. Either way get it out the way. That way you franchise Drew, have a shade of leverage in negotiations for him to want something long term. Maybe have a prayer with colston but i don't think likely. You can't pay everyone.

I disagree. Guards are much easier to replace and less important on the OL. While it would be great to keep Nicks, I don't think you do it at the expense of losing Colston. He's too important in the WR position for our team to be lost.
If they can make it work to sign all three without sacrificing bringing in players at other positions, then I am game; however, it's not smart to tie up that much money into a position where high talent isn't as important as other spots.

Not on this oline. Drew is usually able to avoid the rush from the edge by stepping up in the pocket Evans and Nicks create so he can throw a strike downfield. Why do you think they paid Evans big money and let Brown go for peanuts and replace him with a second-year tackle
