for the first time. I've seen and heard people say it's the best sniper movie, but I haven't seen many movies based around the sniper - only Shooter. I liked the sniper in Saving Private Ryan, but obviously that wasn't just about him. So what are some other good sniper movies? Which do you think is best? Which is your favorite?

Suddenly. Sinatra as a presidential assassin. Came out just before the JFK assassination. Sinatra's production company refused to re-release it until a few years ago.

Don't forget about the Tom Berenger/Billy Zane film "Sniper", "Sniper II", and "Sniper III"

You mean The Manchurian Candidate which came out in 62' Suddenly came out in 54' a full 9 years before JFK's assassination. But you're right he was not proud of it and tried to have all the prints destroyed. It really is a wonderful performance of his.

Great flick. Almost has a documentary feel to it.

I guess you could loosely say Jarheads is a movie about snipers.

No, do forget about Sniper II and Sniper III. The first one is worth watching.

Per Movie Board standard, the book blows away the movie

Also 'The Jackal' with Bruce Willis comes to mind

I really enjoyed this one.

I think Enemy at the Gates is a better film however.

I remember the first Sniper being good, but I haven't seen it in at least 8 years.

this is probably my favorite war movies, definitely top 3. I've always been fascinated by assassins/snipers. it's why every game i play, I usually pick that class if there is one.
