There was not a single reason why we lost

Good lord there are some dense arse fricking people in here.
-we turned it over 5 times giving them the ball inside the 10 TWICE.
-Greg Williams had the ultimate brain fart in the last 5 minutes of the game after our D had allowed ONE "drive" of over 50 yards prior
-Our offensive line played like Atlanta's instead of one with 3 probowlers...Brees was getting Mauled and Justin Smith while good looked like Lawrence fricking Taylor
-our receivers got owned for a large stretch of the 2nd half by their secondary... creating no separation (the offensive line didn't help)
-Brees threw the ball over 60 fricking times...there was 0 threat of the run game to keep the SF pass rush honest.
It was a total team shitshow...that we still almost pulled out.
Doesn't make it hurt any less.

Thats a great fricking defense we played don't act like we handed them the ball 5 times and don't act like Justin Smith isn't a stud!
We put up 32 points even with 5 TOs and Brees threw for 462 yards!
People are more pissed at the defense because Alex Smith and that Offense fricking suck and there is no excuse to single cover their best player on the last 2 drives and allowed them to do something that should have been impossible!

SF showed how to play great defense in today's NFL. With the rules favoring the offense there is no way you're stopping guys like Brees, Brady, Rodgers, etc every time. You have to make their life uncomfortable, tackle well, make drives stall, and create a few opportunities to get turnovers.
Their coverage unit also was in absolute beastmode all day which caused us to fumble twice, and start the majority of our drives inside the 20.

Sure they have a great defense but Sproles still coughed up a pretty routine run back, and Roby was a complete shite show. Justin Smith is a stud but in the eyes of the NFL we have plenty of studs on our Oline as well.

All the others stuff would have been nice (i.e. not having 5 turnovers) but the Saints D shite the bed at the end big time.

Wrong. Some games have a handful of plays that could have gone either way that decide a game. This game had 10-15 plays that could have easily gone either way. And if any single one of them don't go the way they did, the saints win. That is very very rare. It's uncanny.

The Saints offense stepped up and made big plays in the 4th quarter. The Saints D folded like a cheap tent in the 4th quarter. That, I believe, is why Saints fans are coming down more on the defense.
