Yes, LSU finishing 2nd in the country and the Saints winning a playoff game before losing on the road makes this a terrible football season. Maybe the worst EVER!!!!

40 years and no it's not. You tell me in 1980 that I'll be watching the Saints lose the divisional round of the playoffs and LSU lose the National championship in the same week, I'll tell you you're full of crap with your optimistic bullshite.

It feels worse when you get to the precipice and fall short. Think, man.

Yep. worst fan week ever.

I started to feel that way, then recalibrated and came up with. Would I rather have a mediocre LSU team celebrating a Meinecke car quest bowl win, and a 7 and 9 Saints team hopelessly out of the playoff picyure by October. I've seen that movie before.

I'll take this kind of Heartbreak, which allows us, as fans, to extend the Season into some meaningful and Exciting Football, over the alternative.

I AM thinking. And going 3-8 or 2-14 with no bowl/post season is a LOT worse!

When you are good your expectations rise. I guess it was championship or bust for me.

Within those 44 years you've lived through some pretty pathetic seasons where neither the Saints or the Tigers could even dream of playing football games past the regular season.
Have you forgotten those years?

This hurts way more than the Katrina season.

Like, way way more.

I'm going to go out on a limb here, but I don't think he's talking about the overall results of the seasons for each team. Winning the BCSCG and making to the NFCCG would've made for one of the best weeks, but we lost both of them! Both teams had great seasons, but it hurts as a fan for us to have lost both games this week. Regardless it;s still good to be part of these great teams!
