LSU OC Status?

Is Studrawa being made permanent OC? I really, really hope not. Surely we can get someone with a better resume.

I'm pretty sure he got the title and raise around November.

That is extremely frustrating. We should pay the idiot and get someone else. Our offense was horrible. It was defense and special teams that got us to New Orleans

Well know next year if this was a Malvetto decision or not.

As long as Miles is the head coach at LSU the offense will look the same. Miles is the OC of LSU.

Miles laughs at this thread and toss-dive's his way to the bank.

Offense was not even close to horrible. You are just still pissed off about its performance in the BCSCG. Sure, it was the weakest of the three phases of the game, but it certainly was not horrble.
The offense will be better next year with a good QB.

Been saying that since he got here, but hey, what do I know!

Ranked 105th in passing and 73rd in total offense (NCAA.com through Jan. 7). Not even close to horrible? That's pretty bad in my opinion.

I'm not going to make a decision till I see what he can do with a real QB.

I'm just afraid well be hiring a new OC after next year.
Too many variables to feel good about winning it all next year.

I'd like to see us hire someone else, but its too early for me to bail on Stud.

If I'm honest with myself I have to admit I don't know who is making teh game day calls on offense as of this year.
1) Les is the head coach and presumably is making some decisions but I'm not sure how often that happens during the game
2) Krags was going to be the OC but stepped down to be QB coach and helper to Stud after his Parkinson's was diagnosed (helps Stud with game prep and suggestions during the game? dunno)
3) Studrawa is now the named offensive coordinator but how much he is beholden to Miles and Krags (when it comes to play calling) isn't clear to me
4) Gonzalez was supposed to be the passing coordinator and WR coach.. areas where LSU was very disappointing the last two years... and somehow Lane Kiffined that performance into an Offensive Coordinator position at Illinois. (WTF did passing coordinator functionally mean anyway with Krags and Stud above him?)
5) Frank Wilson is our recruiting coordinator and RBs coach
6) Wilkerson is presumably going to be promoted to something like OL coach right?

I don't find that all that convincing... our offense from 2005-2007 looked very different

this x 2
First it was Jimbo, then Crowton (granted he was awful) and now Stud. And who is the lone common factor behind the three.
Who favored JJ over Lee while our offense progressively got worse over the last 4 games of the season back to 2009 levels.
Who was calling for power rushes and full back dives when down by 2 TDs in the 4th qtr.

Not many folks w/ a better resume want to take a step back to where they are OC in name only. If their rep and career is on the line, they want to call the plays they want to call.

THIS is my belief

Disagree. Studrawa is a fine OC as long as we have good QB play. The offense didn't start going downhill until Jefferson took over. The only person who couldn't see that was Miles. Our biggest hope is that Miles sticks with Mettenberger and we continue to run the play action, pro style offense we ran with Lee, not the offense that can't get first downs and can't cross the 50 yard line that we ran with Jefferson.
