(Other than being homers.) I think LSU is going to have to throw into tight coverage tonight, and I don't feel confident at all about that. Help me feel better.

If they do not have money bet on it then they aren't that confident. Its just trash talk.

I believe LSU is the better team.
I feel like we have several things working in our favor:
-we're not intimidated by Bama
-homefield advantage
-we've played in more big games than Bama and had much more resistance.
I can see Bama get flustered tonight if we stuff 'em a couple times early.
Or if they miss an early FG.
I believe it's this LSU team's destiny to be National Champs!

I'm not all that confident but i think the keys are...
IMO:
*Alabama's offense is 1 dimensional (kind of like LSUs
). They're great at running the football (really great), but they're in trouble in the passing game. I think McCarron will fold if they start falling behind. They can grind it out...but that's about it. Smelley could have a big game for bama but he doesn't give them a downfield threat.
*Also, I expect Spencer Ware to be back at 100% tonight. He got dinged in the bama game. Hilliard has been and is going to be a great back, but Ware is the punisher! He is the better power back when healthy. We WILL have success up the gut and to the outside.
*JJ may go 5 -12 (or he may have really improved and he'll go 14-20 - who knows) but he'll have 75 yards rushing. I bet we run a bunch of 1 route pass plays. They've drilled in his head: If it's not there, run or get rid of it. Our WRs will play a key role in blocking.
*Brad Wing
10-7 bama at half
23-17 Tigers final
--eta--
good point brought up about LSU's big game experience. We won't fold. Bama could outplay us, but we won't fold under pressure.

Given the "Bigness" of this game...
We have a huge experience advantage with JJ at QB.

Besides all the above - These guys know what they are playing for and it is bigger than Bama
They will get the Brass Ring

If they havent had it yet, they sure as hell arent going to have it now. You dont hear any comments out of LSU players about "restoring order" or any of that shite.

13-0 record, 9-0 in the SEC, wins over Oregon, WVU, Bama and Georgia, SEC Champion, PLUS ... everything I've seen from this team over the season. Could we lose? Of course—the gumps have a great team. But I'm confident we'll do well tonight. We're that damn good.

All the talk before the November 5th matchup was about the winner basically goes to the BCSCG. The rest of the talk was if the loser would still have a shot to get there.
Just about everyone said that if LSU lost a close game, they would still have a great chance in getting back in the title game. However, if Alabama lost, losing at home, even to the #1 team, would not look good.
LSU got Bama's best effort. Both coaches were very timid in playcalling, but Miles knew that if it was close, his defense and special teams would make the difference. Saban knew points would be a premium, but tried too hard to get those points. Attempting long field goals and running a WR pass ended up killing his team.
Look at OT. Alabama's three plays were: Incomplete to TR, Imcomplete to TR, Sack. Why not try to run TR or Lacy?
LSU dominated the second half and OT on defense, and did what they needed to do on offense to keep the game going.
People talk about the points left on the board for Bama, but forget to mention that LSU had the ball TWICE on 1st and goal on the same drive, and only came away with 3 points. And, a short throw and Shepard falling down left another 4 points on the board.
I'll take my chances at the Dome with Les and time to prepare. His record speaks for itself, and I believe it is better than Nick's.

everything points to LSU.
LSU is improved at the RB spot, PR and if you look at total production from the QB position in the previous WIN, it was abysmal and can only get better.
The game will be played in fron of a 70% pro LSU crowd instead of a 90% Bama crowd, on turf which favors LSU's speed advantage.
LSU's O Line is healthy now.
LSU has heard for months that the better team lost, negating any revenge factor that Bama had.
Les Miles is more money than saban with extra time to prepare and has saban's number right now.

This team has handled adversity magnificently all season. Because of what happened even before the season started, folks were writing LSU off even before the opening kickoff. It seems like this team has thrived in situations where no one gave them a chance to succeed...
kinda like tonight. All of the "experts" are picking Bama. I think LSU has one last WRONG AGAIN DUMMIES left in them.

I'm comfortable because between these two teams only one of them are can say without a doubt that they can beat the other one. Not only did we beat them, but we beat them in BD. Not only did we beat them in BD, we beat them playing badly. Neither team played perfectly last time and we still came out on top, I'm thinking our best is still gonna beat their best.
