Any place in Zwolle makes good tamales.

Not sure if best, but the ones at Pimanyoli's are worth a try.

The ones my dead grandmother used to make....Honduran style, if you haven't had Honduran tamales you're missing out.

Honduran>>>Mexican by far imo.

Tigerchef.. there are several places in Zowelle that make tamales. Have found the best ones at R&B on Main St and Uncle Wayne's BBQ..21400 hwy.191 they have good tamales and great BBQ.

Had some at the Freret Street Fair a while back that were awesome. They were from Agave Tamales in Lake Charles.

I made some once that tasted exactly like Manuel's, even down to the grease. Unfortunately, I didn't write down exactly how I did it that day. (I like to try different variations of amounts in recipes.)

I still have the source recipe, I just have to recreate the proportions I used that day. I can tell you that the reason most people can't duplicate Manuel's is due to the method, not the ingredients.

I will share here when/if I can recreate it.

agree, but My friends grandma sometimes puts tons of capers and olives in them and it throws off the taste. I like the banana leaf version myself.
