When I was in New Orleans for the '03 BCS NG, we went to a thing at the Sheraton(I think) on Canal and watched the game in one of the big meeting rooms there. There were 2 big jumbo trons set up and there was a buffet and a full bar.

It was set up by the Crescent City Tigers. I looked at their website but there's no email address or a way to contact them.

I was wondering if anyone knew if they were going to do something similar for this game. I tried a search but the only thing I could find was that thing that was going to be set up next to the Dome.

Any help would be most appreciated.

It's possible they'll set up the big screen's in "Champions Plaza" across from the Superdome. That would be the next best thing.

That's what I got in the search results but I couldn't find the name of it. I thought it was right next to the Dome.

Thanks!

Champion's Square has no roof, and it will be so packed that you will move about as fast as you can on Bourbon Street on Mardi Gras day. The beer (Bud) lines might be long but they move and have a decent price, all considered (unless they jack them up above the usual Saints' game price).

The Sheraton is located on Canal Street, just across from the Quarter. Give them a call. That sounds like a great deal. Check out some of the other big hotels too: the Marriott (on Canal a few blocks from the Sheraton) and the Hilton (end of Canal near the Marriott and the Casino). Even better, the Dome MIGHT have admission inside its gigantic meeting rooms. Give 'em all a call. From there, go to Google and search big hotels in New Orleans. There are quite a few; New Orleans has made sure it has more hotel space than it needs for any event. Even the mid-sized ones can have big rooms.

Never ever get off the beaten path of long crowds headed to the Quarter from the hotel or the Dome, or you will become beaten or worse. Women simply must have at least one decent man with them and more around them. Most people know “equality” is at best a lie. At night, women should never walk anywhere in New Orleans alone even if it is to catch a streetcar packed with solid citizens or to cross the street. Even the daytime is unsafe; but this discussion is limited (because of the need to be brief) to the night of the NC in New Orleans.

Don't drink and drive; this is preaching practicality not morality. (Just add up the relative costs as they say on TV.) If worse comes to worse, take a cab to your local sports bar, and get the best seat in the whole world outside of your living room.

Good luck.

Man, I would honestly steer very clear of Champions Square/Plaza or whatever it is they call that Pavilion on the side of the Dome.

If people can even stay there during the game, it'll be packed to the hilt.

I would recommend ANY establishment in the Quarter, really.

I'm thinking the same. That thing in '03 was great.

We were there in '07 too but we just watched in the hotel room. We had a balcony on Bourbon and teased tOSU fans for beads. It was at the Ramada, Inn on Bourbon.

If we can't get into the dome, something like this would be great.

Thanks!

If you must go, GET INTO THE DOME AREA NO LATER THAN 2:00 p.m. Walk the perimeter (it’s huge, but it will be cool—both meanings), and then judge how soon you should return. Go to the Square (between the Dome and the big pink Benson Tower that has just two letters right now, B B, in two different sizes of silver letters. I think they are trying to decide how big they want the letters once the full name is embedded. Ask when the Square will open and whether you can watch the game. Of course, you will have done that already, RIGHT? You can come later, but it will get harder and harder (until it is impossible if there is one of the regular accidents on the Mississippi River bridge). Forget about making it "just in time." Not gonna happen.

Of course, ticketed or unticketed fans already know they must plan on 2:00 p.m. Psst . . . don’t tell BAMA fans.
