LSU might become the first team to reach 3 crystal balls... I think it's awesome and it would be the first that would be without blemish amonst CFB fans.. Huge game for LSU...Alabama doesn't deserve to be in the game, but is certainly capable of stealing the dreams of many LSU fans.

Absolutely agree with all of that.

Sure it does. Preseason rankings are all about
quote:

perception. The perception is that USC is a damn good team, with the talent and the pedigree to take on the best the SEC has to offer.

The truth is we're not deep enough to match LSU OR Bama right now, and won't be for 3 years. If we meet and beat either team in that span it would be nothing short of a miracle.

But who does't love miracles?

Different HC, different players, and no where near the talent SC had a few years ago outside of QB and WR. Perception can be warped.

I agree USC is not in the mix, not at all, however look out next year---we will be back. Congrat to LSU on this fine season and I believe you will beat Alabama easily.

No doubt about it. Your perception that SC has nowhere near the talent it had a few years ago is warped. We don't have the 3 deep we had a few years back, but we have an awesome first 11 on either side of the ball. We're likely to lose a great QB, OT and a couple of defensive starters, but after that, not much is missing.*

*I'll concede that losing Barkley and Kalil to the 1st round of the NFL draft will sting a bit.

I think for a game USC probably has enough talent to surprise anyone. I wouldn't put money on them to take more than 2 out of 5 though against elite competition.

Sure, that's just due to sanctions. Hard to maintain depth through all of that mess. It might get worse before it gets better, but if SC stays healthy and continues to recruit for quality if not quantity, we'll have weathered sanctions better than any NCAA team in recent memory.

I ,for one, truely hope we get to play USC for the title next year. As nauseating as the media fallatio of that program will be next Fall, I want them in that game with us.

It just never ends..... it seems the same programs every year get hype just because of who they are.... I get so sick of hearing about USC, Notre Dame, OU, Michigan.... Well, Herbie might have seen his wish come true had USC not paid for thier star player/s... Bush was who got caught, but no doubt there were others... Wasnt Joe McNight a LSU commmit, then suprisingly went to USC??? Or am I not remembering that correctly...

I really thought he was going to breakdown on the BCS show the night after the win over Alabama. He looked like he was about to cry. Then all of the sudden (really it seemed like just for conversation) Craig James said, "well LSU still has to play Arkansas and probably Georgia in Atlanta." Little Kirk suddenly lit up like a Christmas tree like "yes, yes !"

Auburn was really gonna teach us not to smoke weed per him that Saturday morning.

On his weekly suck up fest on Finebaum's show before the Auburn game after saying Alabama was the best team in America said he was predicting LSU was going to struggle with Auburn and now with the suspensions "all the sudden,Paul, this Auburn team knows they can come to Baton Rouge and pull of the upset."

Way to go, Herbie.

USC gave up 132 points combined to Arizona, Arizona State and Stanford.

LSU gave up 140 in 13 games.

Bring it!

Let's get USC on the schedule right now! I would rather hear how USC un-won against LSU (similar to Ala when they un-won against LSU), than listen to how USC would beat LSU.

This left coast pandering gets very old, and the only way to shut it up (or at least quiet it down) is to beat USC straight up.

Yeah, clearly USC is a very good team and much improved. However, lumping them with the elites based on their performance, like what seesm to be happening is a stretch. The beat Oregon and Oregon had a chance to win on the last play, great. LSU blew them out of the water. They lost to Stanford, who while good, is 1-1 vs. good teams. They also were blown out by a .500 ASU.

I imagine more than anything it's just to fill the air time between now and the big bowls. I mean, there is is nothing to discuss. It's even a damn rematch.

ESPN has to justify their $3 billion contract with the PAC 10. They're doing and saying what the big cheese(s) at ESPN want. Puppets on a string.

Can someone point me to a quote? Not doubting the OP but things get taken the wrong way around here. Saying he would like to see them play is different than him saying he would pick USC to actually win.

Nick Saban would take a naked Herbie on a neutral bed. Based on Herbie's oral vacuuming of all things Bama this year, I'd say that has already happened.
