LSU isn't gonna get many rushing yards on Bama's D. You know it. Les knows it. Could be why they didn't get the touches.
That's odd, I coulda sworn we outrushed Bama.

Only by 50+ yards or so.

Yes, and according to Bama logic, a 50+ yard differential in stats means that we totally DOMINATED them, so it is a pretty big deal, actually.

Does that change my original statement? Did I say Bama was gonna run all over LSU?

No.

What I'm saying is all 3 or 4 of your backs can combine their yards and it will be less than 110. IMO

You guys are quick to say "but on Nov 5...".....guess what? Things change in different games. Am I crazy to think Bama can shut down LSU's run?? Maybe. Using that logic...all the tards saying LSU by 14 are crazy too.

And most of those rushing yards came off the option with JJ. Good luck with that on Jan 9.

So you couldn't stop it with 2 weeks to prepare but with 4 weeks you can handle it?

Defending the option isn't quantum physics. Its all about playing assignment football. We beat you guys on the option even when you played your assignment because of the athletes you have at LB. They just aren't' built to run east and west.

Actually, according to Gump logic, LSU's 50+ yard differential means that the GUMPS totally dominated LSU! After all, their 9-6 loss really meant they won! Wouldn't it stand to reason, then, that being outgained in yards reflects what a dominant team the Gumps are??

The offense has been terrible of late, to be honest / how can you say that?

I don't recall us doing much in the first half vs Arky either. I remember TM7 doing a little something. Speaking of which... anyone watch RG3's "highlights"? They wouldn't make TM7's top 10 plays of the year if he had made them. But I digress... the offense has only played one decent defense since Alabama, Georgia. Western Kentucky was one notch above Old Piss, who got beat by Tech. Arky's defense wasn't bad, but the 41 we put on them wasn't all offense. 7 to TM7, and at Georgia we had another special teams TD and Mo's pick 6. Toss in JJ and Blue's long TD runs, and you start to see a lot of inconsistant play of late. Points are points, I understand that, but if a lot of the yards you're talking up come on busted plays that Verne Lundquist could have scored on, what happens when those holes aren't there against a real team? 1st half of Georgia? Better hope not.

you must mean the first quarter... we pretty much moved the ball at will after the first quarter, with the only drive not reaching our endzone was a Ford fumble that was returned the other way...

Bama, with a month to get ready, will know how to defend against the option. Hopefully LSU is preparing something when the option gets shut down.

LSU's best hope in this game is that much offense isn't needed. I would bet this is the case.

LSU will make adjustments defensively and put someone on TR coming out of the backfield, and the D backs will intercept AJ at least three times. I bet LSU can score 17 points without having an offensive touchdown. AJ has never been in a game like this and will shite the bed. Saban and his assts don't know how to work around him when he plays poorly.

He made some horrible throws to open receivers last time the two played.

we rushed for 150 with a patchwork line. and with a healthy line you think we'll rush for that much less? i expect LSU to hit the 150 mark midway in the 4th quarter

LSU has to survive the 1st quarter though, just like in every tough game this year. if we can get through the 4th quarter and the game is within 10, i'll be confident as frick.

They knew how to defend the option on Nov. 5. They just didn't (or couldn't) do it. I think the same thing will happen Jan. 9. Only worse. For them.

Watch Ford blow past Hightower on the OT option at the 2:04 mark. THEY CAN'T RUN WITH US!!! Add in the fact the game is on field turf and watch what happens.

LOL - LSU has averaged 167 yards rushing the past 4 games against some pretty good Bama teams and this will be the healthiest any OL has ever been against Bama.
