Who's the next best pro prospect on our team after Claiborne?

I know there have been some talk about Randall maybe going pro. I hope he would go first round, but it would most likely be later. Who are the 1st rounders, other than Claiborne, on this years squad?

if we're talking future years, I'd say Reid and Brockers have high round potential. Probably Faulk on the O-line

CBS has Mr. Montgomery as the #30 pick in this year's draft, pretty good for a rsSO.

If Randle stays he's probably a late first rounder. Brockers and Montgomery both have first round talent, but I'm not sure they'll ultimately go in the 1st. Eric Reid is someone to keep an eye on also.

I could see Mingo as a senior being a high pick too.

I think for this year, there aren't many that would be close to Claiborne in the draft order. Next year, though, I think Sam blows the hell up and it going to be extremely highly fought after.

I think if Mettenberg pans out as projected, Randall could have a big year. I think there's a little uncertainty though. Especially with the dozen running backs we have. It's gonna be hard for anybody on our offense to really standout.

Tyrann Matheiu is NFL material. He's not big but there have been plenty of smaller DB's that got drafted early and became impact players. A baller is a baller no matter where he goes. I can see Mingo turning into a big time pass rusher from the OLB position like a Von Miller.

If Mingo continues to develop and put on weight he has the highest ceiling. Then Montgomery, Brockers, Reid, Simon(if he continues to develop), Faulk, Randle.

Every running back who carried the ball for LSU this year will play professional football, probably all in the NFL (at least briefly)

Every defensive back who started or played significantly for LSU this year will play professional football, probably all in the NFL - and I'm including Brooks in this counting. Bryant is probably the only significant contributer who may not get looked at, but I'm not even ruling that out (he played the hybrid - safety/LB position fairly well in relief).

Every defensive lineman who started or played significantly for LSU this year will play in the NFL.

As to who is the best? Who is going to go pro early? Claiborne, maybe Reid and, the way it looks now, Hilliard (but it's early) - so Reid and Hilliard are certainly top candidates. I'm not saying the early guys will necessarily make the best pros - just the percentages favor that.
