So who's kicking of the 2012 season with Beachfest?

I'm glad Claiborne told the truth. The Wonderlic is pointless.

Both Louisiana products - LL was injured during that matchup. They played again and LL punked BJ's. I'd say they are even.
This is true. He got him more than once on the field and in the mini scuffle out of bounds.

The 23 yard FG they missed cost them the game.

Claiborne, by far.
I wouldn't say by far. Simon will step in and fill the shutdown role just like Claiborne did when Peterson departed.

Once a line is set, it is then dictated by where the money is being bet. It opened at LSU a 1.5 point favorite. Apparently, a lot of dollars when being placed on Bama taking the points. The line is then adjusted to try to even out the money. Thus it swings the other way (Bama favored by 1). It's now kinda split where some betting houses have Bama favored by 1, some LSU favored by 1. What's strange is that there are no evens.
Thanks for the explanation. I play every weekend mostly NFL and LSU (and do win), but didnt understand fully how the line adjusts. The card I get usually comes out on a Tuesday so I know by game time it's probably gonna be different. I just assumed that LSU would be at least a 3 point favorite being virtually the home team.

Well if they are +2 then you should be happy. That means we are favored by 2. Don't take this the wrong way, but I feel you may not need to bet on this game.
On the card Bama is favored. Of course Im gonna take LSU. I was gonna take them no matter what the point spread was. Favored or not.

I did state it wrong, they're giving LSU 2 points. All in all, Bama is favored on the card.
Championship Game Point Spread

I picked up a card today and it has Bama +2. I'm having a hard time figuring out why they would be favored over the #1 team who already defeated them at their place. Im not mad at all though, just curious.

They shouldn't have used the same pennant that they used 34 years ago.

Tharold Simon will be a high draft pick when the time is right.
I agree 100%. His coverage skills are off the charts. But playing in a defensive backfield with TM7 and Claiborne, it's hard to get the high praise. If he would have caught all of the picks he dropped, he would have been on the map.

I think if Mettenberg pans out as projected, Randall could have a big year. I think there's a little uncertainty though. Especially with the dozen running backs we have. It's gonna be hard for anybody on our offense to really standout.

I know there have been some talk about Randall maybe going pro. I hope he would go first round, but it would most likely be later. Who are the 1st rounders, other than Claiborne, on this years squad?

since we don't have all the info, I'm going to assume that Les took the load off of Lee so that he could get his grades in order to save him the embarrassment of missing the BCSCG because of academics. Of course I realize that is too boring and logical for some, so let's continue to assume something sinister is at play so that we can be outraged!!! We Are The Rant!
Exactly. I guess it's just hard for some to grasp the fact that a coach actually cares about the student half of student-athlete.

Yes because criticizing JJ for his 25 yard total offense performance Sat nite or his 4 yards of total offense vs McNeese in 2010 or numerous other performances like that by him is no basis to criticize!
And like I mentioned before, I too was calling for Lee and a change of pace. Jefferson was really struggling. But the fact is, he's still the starting QB. He won the job. Les Miles is gonna stick with him. And I still think that there's other reason that Lee isn't playing.

I live in the south. Everything comes down to race. That'll never change.

Its not the point about questioning your team. It's trying to start a controversy out of nothing. Every thing on this board turns into a Lee/Jefferson argument. There's a reason why one is playing and the other is not. Les Miles knows that we were fortunate to start 8-0 with Lee at quarterback. He's a servicable quarterback, not a playmaker. Jefferson has more big play potential.
And by the way, I wanted a change of pace in the first half also. But I credit Les for sticking to his guns.
