I ate there last December. It was okay. The service was good, the sides good enough, but the steak quality wasn't worth the price charged.

it can be inconsistent. that being said, i haven't been there in 6 months.

I've had surprisingly good meals there and others that left me disappointed.

I love to stay at the Monteleone and for the sake of convenience, it is nearby. However, it wouldn't be my first choice for steak in NOLA.

Been 3 or 4 times. I've always enjoyed it.

I imagine we will cab from the Hyatt.

What other area steakhouses should we consider? Reserves this late may b difficult tho....

Ruth's Chris Metairie I think serves the most consistently good steak in the area.

Mr Johns and La Boca get good reviews around here, usually more so than Dickies.

I know they will want FQ Area.... And something other than Ruths or Mortons.

Likely gonna stick with Dickie's.....

Surprised that Crescent City Steakhouse doesn't get more love, given its heritage as the basis for Ruth's. As to the OP, as long as they travel there via Esplanade (via cab or other secure transport, please God) they might even be convinced that it's still in the FQ "area".

La Boca. Unless it has to be a strictly traditional steakhouse atmosphere.

Went to Tchop House on Tchoupitoulas for a work dinner a few weeks back and really enjoyed it! Very good steaks with good sides!

This.

Went to Dickie Brennans 2 weeks ago and the only reason we went there over La Boca was we were a large group and would have to do the tasting menu at La Boca. But Dickie Brennans was pretty good. Excellent service, good steak, sides were okay. I'd go back.
