I got String. He was a bigger visionary and insulated his person much better than Avon. Much more brains than balls. Avon is much more in line with Marlow. Lots of balls, some brain, but he was led by his balls.

and fwiw, teh most hilarious scene in the wire history is avon's party when he comes home...when krawczyk and levy are at the party. imagine being those fricking guys at THAT party

The sky was the limit for Stringer with his Baltimore Community College education.

String showed his street at the end of his run when he wanted a rough and tumble guy like slim to do some assassination shite

Avon, no question. String was a man without a country. Not hard enough for this shite right here, and maybe, just maybe, not smart enough for that shite out there.

Just saying he stayed focused and always looked at the big picture until he got fricked by the white guys from downtown which was the beginning of his end. When it came down to it he went back to his roots of bloodshed to take what he wanted. In the end he had created too many enemies and lost a little bit of the street justice that got him to the business man aspect.

naw. it was just his first try and it failed. he made a mistake. it happens

avon was the beginning of the end. fricking up all the good that string had built for foolish pride

did you finish the series? im assuming since the title says spoilers. in season 5, clay "sheeeeeet" davis mentions how he took stringer for a ride. the dude might have thought he had his shite together but he didnt. he was just smarter on the streets.

i dont think he wouldve been able to actually get his reality shite in line and get it working. he tried to be something he wasnt.

avon knew what he was and accepted it. he was the man.

Agreed. It was his first mistake in a business he thought he had figured out because he took some classes at Baltimore community college. That one mistake in a non violent business ended up costing him his life

fricking love that scene ...

AVON: Wassup playboy? How come you’re wearing that suit b? It’s 85 frickin’ degrees out here and you trying to be like Pat Riley.
PROP JOE: Man, look the part, be the part, motherfricker.
