NELA has had a great showing this year. Usually the southern part of the state dominates the sport but this year it is possible that we could have the 1A 4A and 5A state champs all from the same parish.

Winnfield isn't to far away from that parish either.

OCS, Neville and West Monroe are only about 10 miles apart from each other and Winnfield is about 70 miles away. Thanks for pointing that out. I forgot they were in the finals.

The southern part of the state dominates? West Monroe, Bastrop, OCS, Evangel, Neville, disagree with this statement.

I knew OCS and Neville were going to be tough to beat a couple of games into the season. I was worried about West Monroe and have to admit I was surprised they made it to the dome. West Monroe is kind of suspect on offense but their defense is great.

I think Carencro will be a tough match-up for West Monroe. Alex Johnson and Jalen Nixon would be hard for any team to stop. From what I've been able to read about the match-up, the thing to watch will be Carencro's offensive line against West Monroe's defensive line. The West Monroe special teams might be the difference if they play the way they have throughout the playoffs.

I don't know anything about West St. John but OCS is well coached and a pretty complete team, especially for 1A.

The Karr/Neville matchup is the one I am most interested in. Karr looked terrible in their first couple of games but they must have made great improvements to have beaten the teams they did to get to The Dome. Neville has looked great all year including the games that Diarse sat out.

No doubt there will be a lot of talent in NOLA this weekend. I am jealous of all of you guys who will make the trip to see your teams play.

Good luck to all of the very deserving teams that made it. Let's hope they all stay injury free.

Is that the same guy that said BB would score 38 on Neville? Lol. 7 points and 132 yards TOTAL with 3 LSU "camp superstars". Thats domination.

Are these games televised statewide?

I might drive over to my parents in Ruston to watch if they are.

Nope, they'll be replayed a few weeks later. Its complete BS. these games should be on and not just on frickin cox. Monroe area with 3 teams in it and no way to watch it. Btw, first time in history that 3 teams from the same parish are in it.

Yeah at the beginning of the year, I said they'll be lucky to get past the 2nd round. They looked absolutely dreadful. Maybe the worst I'd ever seen WM play. But they got things rolling. And once I saw our bracket, I felt pretty confident they would make it. Not sure we would have made it to the dome if we had been on the other side.

As for Carencro, we usually do well against running teams, so we'll see. Should be a good game.

They have been fantastic. They are SEC Caliber, but both would fit better as OLB in a 3-4.

per capita I would be willing to bet the Monroe area dominates and when you throw the Shreveport area, Haynesville, Oak Grove, and the others already mentioned into the mix, the northern part of the state dominates HS football.

How good and how big is Xavier Woods (Honey Badger)?

How many punts has he returned for TD's?

How many INT's has he returned for TD's?

For anyone interested, his teammates call him Honey Badger

He's the best receiver on the team, but was moved to defense earlier in the year. In one game he had a pick 6, punt return, and blocked field goal returned for a TD. Believe that was the first game of the playoffs. He's a junior and I'll make sure to talk to his uncle about getting him to camps next summer.

I'm personally a very big fan of Lathan's talent. There are some questions about his motor but if he gets the light turned on in college, some school is going to get a steal with him. I wish LSU had taken a flier on him but I like Hunter and Davis more so no complaints. Mcfarland is a good one as well and there is no question about his motor.
