OCS, Neville and West Monroe are only about 10 miles apart from each other and Winnfield is about 70 miles away. Thanks for pointing that out. I forgot they were in the finals.
NELA football
Posted by MonreauxTiger7 on 12/4/11 at 2:12 pm
NELA has had a great showing this year. Usually the southern part of the state dominates the sport but this year it is possible that we could have the 1A 4A and 5A state champs all from the same parish.

I think Diarse is upwards of 6'0. I stood next to him last night and I think hes probably more like 6'2. The guy is big too. Tree trunks for thighs.

Holmes may be faster on the track but that doesn't always translate to speed on the football field. Holmes may indeed be faster but Dural had more of an opportunity to showcase his talent last night and he took advantage of it. He is lightning fast and it's effortless.

I attended the game and I agree with most of you on the players. I do think Diarse was clearly the best athlete on the field. No contest. The guy has great field vision and acceleration. I also talked to several parents and coaches and they said he is an excellent student and an even better person. Character guy. He is a must have.
Dural is probably the fastest high school receiver I have ever seen. He's incredibly thin though. He'll need to redshirt a year and put some pounds on but he will be great after that.
Didn't really see or hear much from Holmes or Louis during the game.

Breaux Bridge vs. Neville: Cox Game of the Week
Posted by MonreauxTiger7 on 12/1/11 at 7:16 pm
Should be a pretty good game tomorrow night at Breaux Bridge. We already have three guys committed to LSU that play for Breaux Bridge (Travin Dural, Kavahra Holmes and Lamar Louis) and Neville has John Diarse. If you want to see some future tigers play you should go to this one tomorrow night. Should be a good one but I think Neville may be a little overmatched playing this talented team in a harsh environment.
Rueben Randle draft status
Posted by MonreauxTiger7 on 12/1/11 at 7:06 pm
I know it's early but I've looked at several mock drafts and don't see him going in the early rounds in any of them. Is this because the "experts" think he will stay at LSU another year or what? He has all of the measurables to be a great WR in the nfl and statistically he is at or near the top of every receiving category in the SEC this year.

National Championship hype video
Posted by MonreauxTiger7 on 11/30/11 at 10:14 pm
I know this is a little premature but if we do end up playing Alabama for the national championship, someone good with videos needs to remake this video and change everything in it about Georgia to Alabama. Would be pretty sweet. Definitely my favorite hype video of all time.

Past LSU hype video
Posted by MonreauxTiger7 on 10/26/11 at 11:11 pm
I'm looking for a hype video that came out in either '08 or '09. The song in the background was Bonecrusher's remix of Saw Theme. A lot of the video featured the team working out in the locker room and it often flashed to a tiger walking through the jungle. I know this description may not be the best but my memory fails me. Any response is appreciated.

Can someone please post a link to the video that starts off with images of the quad and the narrator talking about the "Stately oaks". Thanks
re: NFC South Predicts

Come on guys, are we all homers? I love my Saints just as much as the next Saints fan but no one who has posted yet has us even finishing second in the division?
My prediction:
1. Atlanta (12-4)
-I don't see how they could be any worse than last year. They pretty much have everyone back and with the addition of Julio Jones, that offense could be better than it was last year.
2. New Orleans (11-5)
-We have a very difficult schedule this year which has already been mentioned. I think our offense will be better with the additions of Ingram and Sproles as well as the emergence of Jimmy Graham. Add that to the fact that we no longer have to feel obligated to get the ball in Reggie's hands anymore which should make the offense more effective. I think we need Cam Jordan to step up and play well this year and the defense should be in pretty good shape especially if Johnny Patrick can step in and be effective in his rookie season. I say 11-5 because we have such a difficult schedule but I could also see 13-3 with us winning the division like some of you have said. Like I said, I love my saints, but I'm just trying to be a realist.
3. Tampa Bay (8-8)
The bucs have a lot of young talent but I think they still need at least one more year to put it all together and make a serious run. Freeman is going to be a good one and Blount is my sleeper to make the pro bowl at RB in the NFC this year. Young man was straight up impressive at the end of last season.
4. Carolina (5-11)
I think Cam is going to be a good one but not this year. It will probably take him 9 to 10 games to break into the starting lineup and more than likely, he'll just look like a rookie quarterback. They are installing a new coach in Ron Rivera who I really like. He needs some time to implement his system but in 3-4 years, I see the Panthers being contenders again.

Bowe right now for sure. Ryan Clark is highly underrated though. He has been one of the leaders on one of the nastiest defenses in the NFL for a few years now. He also served as the Steelers' player representative during the lockout which shows that he is not only an excellent football player, but an intelligent person as well. All this being said, I love all the tigers in the NFL. :geauxtigers:
