Absolutely the most overused bromide in the NBA. If you pay the money, put together some promising pieces and a FA sees a functional organization (which there will be by spring), the FA will give N.O. a close look. Seriously, the city is fine. It's the franchise that has to look attractive, and it will.

This would be my dream scenario.

Oh, by the way, if a trade along those lines were to happen . . . DAYUM I'd be happy.

I wish we could get their 1st along with Minny's in this draft

Boston has the Clippers first this year.

I'm tempted to take this deal even if CP3 wants to stay here. We'd get a solid 2 guard for the first time I can remember, a great lotto pick...future would look nice with a trade like this.

I'm trying not to get my hopes up for this though. It seems too good to be true
Edit: By the way, would we sign an extension with Gordon on this trade? cause I think he's in his last year of his contract.

Then why wouldn't Dwight Howard want to come HERE and team up with CP3. Why isn't CP3 recruiting for NOLA to be the next super team? Why not be the man here instead of following WWW advice and being 2nd fiddle in NY...

Bc he is a soft bitch that isn't a leader. He would rather follow the Lebron model and protect his "brand"

Plus we don't have anything of value to give to Orlando outside of CP3.

Would love to get Jordan instead of Bledsoe, but I'd be happy with this regardless. Kaman would just be an expiring, not someone we would really keep around longterm. Jordan could be a legit starter, and a fun one to watch. JJ/Gordon/Ariza/midpricedPF/Jordan could be a pretty fun team to watch. Then go after Drummond/Davis/Sullinger next year.

Uncertain ownership for right now. No big paydays are going to be offered to anybody right now. It's about timing. Look, will N.O. be able to compete with NYC, L.A., Chicago or Miami if a superstar is absolutely determined to play in a huge market? Nope. But two things. First, I seem to remember San Antonio having a pretty good run. Orlando almost made it. Small to medium markets can make do well. Second, I think the new ownership will be smart . . . in fact, it will have to be because it will, in a sense, be "blessed" by Stern and the NBA. I there's a good chance this will be well run franchise.
My point is that it's simply not true that no one will come to this market.

that team would be horrible. But a nice build for the future.

Yeah, it would be, but I like Gordon and Jordan, and would set us up with 2 lotto (maybe top 5) picks in a loaded draft. We would have plenty of cap space as well.

downside is Jordan is in the last year of his deal and will prob get a nice contract since he is a 7 footer. Gordon is potentially signed through next season, so its not like either are locked in as long term guys for us.

I'd rather see Tyson back.
