If stud and UM have such a great relationship why has stud been at LSU all these years? Why now? Mullen left and UM surely could have hired him then!

I don't think assistants think this way. They leave for other jobs, that's just what they do. He will (hopefully) have won 2 NCs as an assistant here, he might welcome the challenge of trying it somewhere else. Especially if he is given more responsibility and he is from Ohio. He may not leave--i hope he doesn't--but if he stays I think it'd be more for personal reasons than simply "WE STACKED."

I agree with most of your post with one exception. I have a ten year old daughter that is in a competing school with University and I see Les And Kathy Miles along with the other kids at games all the time, year round. Whether it's swimming, soccer, basketball, volleyball etc...they are there.

I get your point and am aware that he is more of an exception to the rule but he shows you can win and have a family life and enjoy the community all at the same time.

Bobby Jindal and Supriya are as active as well since they are on the same team. And they drive themselves without police details.

so Meyer left and did NOT take Stud with him...very telling IMO

Stud went, then changed his mind. And according to Stud, Meyer was mad at him.

He did take him and a few weeks later Stud returned to Bowling Green when offered the OC job

He may go, but only if does not want to ever climb in position.

why go to Oh St if you want a better position down the road...I believe it would be an easier promotion from LSU to ??

but I would say yes, if he would be completely satisfied to stay at Oh St in his initial position forever (pretty much)
which would mean to me that the move is more due to LOCATION than anything else.

I certainly think it's about personal opportunity and not working with Urban Meyer. Stud went with him to Utah and didn't like it and left to go back to Bowling Green. Stud stated Meyer was angry at him. It depends on what Meyer may have said to him or how he treated him afterwards. It appears he received the cold-shoulder until he was elevated to OC at LSU. That's quite a few years between phone calls even while Meyer was at Florida. Not sure I would want to work for someone like that, but who knows. I still think it will come down to his desire to be in Ohio again.

you couldn't see him going from Ohio State OC to HC at a MAC school?

Said Stud is happy here and has one daughter that will be a sr in high school and another in high school. Hanagriff said that he did not see Stud uprooting the family to coach with Meyer especially given Meyer's track record of moving around.

I think his family will be the biggest draw for Stud. I believe he has a daughter already at LSU as well. Stud is a family man and his family will not want to pick up and move at this point in their lives.

I'm curious to know if Les actually considers Stud the OC, the interim OC, or the co-OC. I don't think his contract was re-worked at the beginning of the year.

Studrawa & Meyer are not the best of friends. That buzz is merely hype designed to hype up Meyer's recruiting efforts.

Studrawa will stay.

Actually, he went to Utah, and then left soon thereafter to go back to BGU. Pissed Meyer off. Now Meyer comes calling. Stud knows what he's buying into if he goes--and apart from the money, it won't be pretty.

He was given a raise. There will be some shuffling in the offseason, but he got an interview in the offseason, & Miles likes Stud.

Pretty sure Stud is your OC going forward if Krags stays on as QB Coach. If Krags can't continue, then we have an issue. Not many good QB coaches who don't coordinate.

"I question your intelligence if you think Ben Wilkerson in his 2 seasons as a GA has attained the level of knowledge as Stud to coach the position. Try as everyone might to dismiss what Stud has done, there is absolutely nothing to suggest he's not a good--if not really good--football coach. "

Not saying Stud isn't a good coach, but I suspect Wilkerson learned a thing or two in his ten seasons in the NFL. I do know the O-Line play has improved a lot in the two years he has been here.

probably more to do with experience than anything. But I do hope they find some way to get Ben on the staff, not sure who would go at that point, maybe Ensminger.

"Studrawa said Meyer was angry at him for going back to Bowling Green and did not speak to him again until this past August when he called Studrawa to congratulate him on being elevated to offensive coordinator at LSU."

I think this right here says it all. Meyer was "angry at him". Urban ounds like a petty whiner to me.

This is the big buzz on ESPN, that since Stud was a former asst to Meyer and he is from Ohio that he's a sure shot to be headed to OSU as Off Coordinator for the Buckeyes.

so Stud runs the same spread offense that Meyer runs?

If (and that's a big IF) he went to OSU, he wouldn't be OC, so why would he leave a stacked team to go to a soon to be sanctioned school to likely be the O-Line coach?

fyi, Ben was in the league 5 yrs tops. 10 yrs (followed by 2 as a GA) woulda put him at the tail end of the Dinardo era.

Ben likely contributed, but I think the biggest factor was getting guys like PJ, T-Bob, and Josh D some snaps. they'd never really played before 09.

we don't NEED stud. lm answered this when crowton left. WE NEED A QB COACH. it will always be lm offensive philosophy. stud can't coach qbs. we need krag way more than stud and we can't pay them both 700k.
