specifically over Spencer Ware

why do you think we are seeing him used a whole lot more in the second half of the season?

here are a couple of my ideas, and i hope that you can add more

1. Ware could be getting a little tired and banged up over the long season. Using fresh legs is allowing Ware to heal up a little and be at 100% for the stretch run

2. Hilliard is just seeing holes better and being more productive in practice and games

3. Coaching staff knows that winning football games requires wave upon wave of talent bring thrown at the opposition. Hilliard provides us that second power back that the staff feels we need

4. Could Ware be hurt a little more than we might want to believe? Not hurt enough to miss game, but enough to drop his effectiveness that we were seeing around the Tennessee game.

Please add more thoughts. Just find it interesting that we start the season on a roll with Lee and Ware and now have Jefferson and Hilliard doing a lot of the heavy lifting.

Jefferson and Hilliard are better players than Lee and Ware. I don't think its that hard to comprehend breh.

Vision is #1..........Ware seems to be set on taking the hole head on and banging for 3 tough yards........the rest of the backs have been finding the creases with much more effectiveness.....SEE YPC.

Is Ware really being less productive when asked to be? Or are we just asking less of him... for whatever reason... and his productivity is down because of it?

Ware is banged up. He is not running with the same viciousness he was before.

If you don;t think he would be banged up running between the tackles like he was...maybe you should stop posting "breh"

I think Ware bulked a little much in the off season. Might have made him a little slower. Still a good power back.

hilliard has more fresh legs, may be practicing harder, is as old as Ware (isn't hilliard like 19 or 20), and is just really successful when he touches the ball. not saying ware isn't but hilliard has just been impressive to say the least.

Spencer is a punishing RB who tends to slide and skip to the side more. He is from the Hester mold, HIT SOMEONE and make it hurt.

Ford is a speedster that goes outside

KH27 is a man child that has good speed, but runs north south better than anyone on the team. He hits the hole, or makes one.

Don't get me started on Blue...if he comes in late in the game, tired defenses have no shot.

KH has been strategically brought in the 2nd half of the season probably because he is blowing up in practices against our #1 defense....we need KH to run strong against Bama...

Getting the younger backs more game experience = more effective at rotating multiple backs down the stretch to wear out opponents' defenses, which seems to be what Miles is all about.

Hilliard is just better and has been slowly worked in to the point where Miles has confidence in him.

Honestly, about the only thing I think Ware does better than Hilliard is catching the ball out of the back field which we have pretty much abandoned this year anyway.

Riding the hot hand. Fresh legs is the key to our running game. These backs are hungry

1. Maybe, but probably not the primary reason.
2. Probably not.
3. Yes. Very true. Both 11 & 27 run hard and finish runs. Miles really likes those qualities.
4. Probably not.

5. He weighs 20 lbs more than Ware. That helps him get a little more push in short yardage. And, he's played well when given opportunities.

Our RB's don't seem to care about playing time this year...they all seem to be united to support everyone that gets in the game...this whole team is like that. Only position that may have some drama is Lee...but even he seems to be ready to go if needed.

Maybe all. Hilliard is a beast.

Plus, you know the coaches are so broad-minded, they may even be giving him reps to help prep him for next season.

he's been less than impressive all season IMO. He'll get the tough yards but I can't think of many times that he broke one for 15+ this entire year.
