I know the Arkansas fans put a lot more stake in this game than most Tiger fans, mainly because after coming over from the Southwest Conference in '92 they had no true rival. With LSU holding an 11-8 edge since the Hogs joined the league, it is much more of a rivalry game than Ole Miss is in recent years. For some LSU fans it is Bama being that Saban is their coach now. Your thoughts?

No disrespect to a fine Arkansas football program, but it is not a rivalry no matter how much the powers that be want to make it one. Just not going to happen.

In '92 when Ark joined the SEC, the powers that be tried to manufacture a rivalry. They put the game at the end of the schedule, they put it on Friday after Thanksgiving, they created "The Boot" trophy.

While its been an entertaining series, I don't think it has ever attained "rivalry" status. Alabama is closest, Auburn is right in there, Ole Miss has faded and Ark?, well its in the mix but I won't use the "r-word" now. The fact is that in the SEC West, everyone can be your rival at any given time.

Alabama, if anyone. Unlike the Hogs, we are capable of beating Saban.

I say yes. The game usually has some type of bowl / championship implications. They bring their A+ game most years and the series hasn't been as lopsided as most want to think. That and their fans are so irrational and arrogant that for me personally I hate them more and more.

I feel like it is a good rivalry, but it feels like most LSU fans don't want to make it THE rivalry. I believe that it is hard to say that the game is not a rivalry game. Especially with the way Arkansas has knocked LSU off and kept them out of some big games.

Bama is the biggest rival because they are the biggest threat.

The importance of this game always has huge implications in the SEC West. That may be reason enough to call it a rivalry.

Is this mainly because they are not an original SEC school? I think more than anything, some LSU fans fear this game because of the implications year in and year out and don't want to admit that it can make or break our season.

To be honest I have said even before the season that THIS game would deciede the WEST. YES they are a rival. BUT I think that FLA has become LSU'S biggeest rival. The game the lst 6-7 years has had Title implications.,

I do not think that it has reached a "true" rivalry, yet. But, the last few years it has slowly crept towards being one.

Being a Razorback fan, I think the main reason it isn't a rivalry because that Razorbacks have yet to win anything of significance. I understand LSU fans not wanting to acknowledge a program such as Arkansas' as their main rivalry. If the hogs can win a SEC championship and a national title, I think that would go a long way in helping with the rivalry thing. Here's to a good game.

For me, yes. I am a purist, plain and simple.

Not sure if "fear" is the right word, but (because of scheduling) it almost always has huge implications for LSU.
