Analyzing the Arkansas game

Positives
-------------------
+ We are playing at home
+ We are the more talented side
+ Arkansas has been a bad road team this year.
+ Arkansas' best wins have been Auburn, A&M, South Carolina
+ Arkansas run defense is at the bottom of the SEC.
Negatives
-------------------
+ Third and Chavis. We have given up big plays on third and long especially against pass happy offenses.
+ Our secondary is depleted. No Reed, Hatcher, Loston.
Keys to LSU victory.
----------------------------
+ Defense needs to be able to get off the field on third down situations
+ We need to be able to pressure Tyler Wilson and also intercept him.
+ We will need to get 500+ yards on offense to win. We can not do this just by running and the option. We need to be able to pass. Which means Jarrett Lee needs to play.
Points to ponder.
------------------
Just as Jefferson helped us win at Alabama, we will need Jarrett Lee to win this game.
Question
---------
Is Les going to play Lee is a passing game is required? I think NOT.

Reid will most likely play.
Hatcher not being back there is a positive....

No, no we don't.

It will depend if we get down and Jefferson can not move the ball, we should see Lee as a spark. Otherwise Lee will play when the game is in hand. And that's the way it is.

Hatcher is a walking liability wherever he lines hope. Minter and Jones playing better is a huge positive for us.
Reid or Loston should play back there. We'll go dime a lot as well with Simon, Mathieu, and Brooks on the field.

You need to re-analyze this game.
Loston has been practicing and will play. Reid will most likely play as well. Hatcher not playing is good.
500+ yards to win? Stupid.
If average 80 yard drives, and score TDs every other drive and FGs on the others, that is 30+ points. We will not need 30 points to beat Arky. Also, 6 drives of 80 yards eats 40 min of clock. If we do that, we beat Arky by 20+.
Think man, think.

It would have helped last year, that's for sure.

Hatcher is a linebacker. We won't have 500 yards of offense.

An analysis by someone who seems to not even know about his own team.
Brilliant!

Damn, I really wanted Josh to play this game, unstoppable!

When has Hatcher played DB in 2011?
And it's Eric Reid. He is questionable.

I see your angle now. Geez.

The only thing the hogs will win is total passing yards and possibly the coin flip.
You guys will definitely win your worst or second worst arse whipping of the year. You have no clue what you are getting involved with on Friday. But I love your moxie! It makes watching #3 get crushed that much sweeter.

In other words, Lee will be called upon to bail us out because Jefferson is ineffective. By then, it may be too late.
The best thing that can happen is for Miles to play them both. Use JJ to grind out long time-consuming drives, and Lee for quick strikes.
It's almost as if Miles no longer values Lee's contributions to the team because he had one bad outing. I just don't understand it.
If Miles sticks with JJ exclusively, this game will be closer than most of us are comfortable with. Jefferson will make some plays with his legs, but his poor passing will kill some drives as well.

What an awful game analysis thread

what makes me confident is both ark and lsu are both avg around 13 per pass completion and 4 per rush. our defense is lightyears better. end of story.

I actually think Lee will be needed more in the SEC title game against UGA. UGA has a stout running defense, Arky not so much.

Lee will not see the field. Look at the Ole Miss game, Lee didn't come in till the game was out of hand. I think the game will be close until the second half when we wear the piglets down.

opponents are only converting first downs 34% of the time against us. Third and Chavis is a myth.
As a positive, you list Arkansas run defense is at the bottom of the SEC, then state we will have to throw the ball to win? does not compute
Arkansas offensive line is not a strength, I think we will be able to pressure Wilson.
I think you summarize the point of your post nicely at the end, however I think we have a much better chance of winning with JJ. Run the ball, control the clock, punish the pigs.
