Anybody have any suggestions for a good, but not too expensive, wedding caterer in the New Orleans area?

No one is cheap honestly that I have seen. What are you looking at per head?

Not really sure yet. We just started looking, and so far we have seen a few of the reception halls where they provide the catering and bar. For those, at about 150 guests, they are asking $38-$42 per head. But we do have a hookup for the bar, so we are trying to find the caterer. Not sure yet how that $38-$42 divides between food and alcohol.

I have heard Pigeon is good didn't use them
Also, most places will surcharge you if you do not use the caterer they have set up already
If there is a specific baker you want to use inquire as well many have deals with bakery as well and will charge you to cut and serve a cake not from that bakery.
Also check out TheKnot.com several brides will give vendor reviews that are very honest

We used michaels catering through Matt and naddies restaurant - they were unbelievable! Cost wasn't bad either...

$40 a head for food and drinks sounds like a good deal. Getting married next year and that's cheaper than ours is.
