Tailgating Question....How to hook up HDTV when outdoors?

How do you hook up your TV's when tailgating? Use a laptop? Bring an extra dish to hook up?
Looks like we will be hanging out at an RV, but the RV doesn't have satelitte TV. And I don't mind admitting I'm clueless on the subject.
Sorry if this is on the wrong board, and admins, please feel free to move if it is.

What do you have to work with?

An HD antenna will catch the CBS/ABC/NBC games.

My husband and I have a HD Dish on a tripod, we

and bring a HD TV. Also, a honda generator they
are so quiet you can't even hear them.

honestly no clue what kind of equipment I am working with. Working on getting the info together. Was just told I was in charge of making sure we had TV. We're in trouble if the group thinks I'm the most inclined to be dealing with this.

If it's a local digital station, you're going to get it with any antenna. In fact, I get some from just hooking up the coax before I even get the antenna screwed on.

HD quality from ANY antenna will be far supperior to cable/satellite. Cable/Satellite HD signal is compressed and decompressed, which distorts the original signal.
"HD" antennas are just a marketing term to sell more of them.

I have used a half dozen HD antennas on campus for the game.
None have ever been more clear than the satellite

I use a flat screen tv and a $9 set of rabbit ears...picks up about a dozen channels with several of them being fine quality HDTV...
if you want ESPN, you have to get a sattelite dish and receiver which is a pretty big pain in the arse to set up....but if it is just networks in HD, no fancy equipment necessary...

Yeah I forgot to specify that this will be for the LSU Arky game, so TV will be on CBS. Antenna seems to be the way to go.

I bought a $30 HD antenna this last weekend for tailgating at the game Saturday, and I picked up 12 locak stations in BR, all of which came in clear as a bell.

hd ANTENNA all you need if your hdtv accepts it.
check with maybe radio shack or something. it's only like 10-20 bucks and you can get crystal clear HD.. heck you really don't even need to pay for cable.
