Does anyone find it odd that all this suddenly hits the fan and old JoePa needs to hit the road 1 freaking win past Eddie Robinson's record?

That thought has crossed my mind. It would be just another horrible, sickening example of the "protect Joe" mentality that enabled Sandusky.

And don't forget in all this that the president of the university, Spanier, was fired too. Over the entire university!!

Crazy. I mean how? How can you just keep your mouth shut about this? Soulless.

Right on the money, I mean, knowing this was going on, I stop to think that he may have some kind of involvement in the matter hope not BUT WTF?

FBI will be checking his computers, office and house.

People just turned a van on it's side. This is crazy.

The guy kept his mouth shut on heinous acts done to young boys. People are actually defending this?

Those people just keep embarrassing themselves. This is the result of Paterno thinking of himself first. Rather than worrying about his legacy or trying to finish the season with "dignity" - something that would have been impossible with this circus -- Paterno should have resigned on Monday. Not only should he have said "I should have done more", he should have said he failed in his responsiblity to the community, and was resigning immediately in the best interest of Penn State. Instead, he was worried about himself, and now people are rioting because they think he was somehow forced out? It just keeps getting sicker.

Funny how the students react to the way JoePa was fired. But it would of only took a phone call to the police to have prevented this years ago. JoePa never gave those kids that kind of chance.

I agree. Anyone there think about the alleged victims? Sure doesn't look that way.

There's a moral and ethical message that seems to be getting lost in all this rioting.

I think it is certainly possible that Paterno knew more. Hell, Sandusky was on his coaching staff for how many years? Paterno may need to stay lawyered up for awhile.

The sickness surrounding this whole issue (which is sick beyond measure) is incredible. I mean here's an example of what is being reported there:

quote:

HAPPY VALLEY, Penna. - Sandusky Blitz, long one of the limp dicks among the one hundred ice cream flavors offered at Penn State's beloved Creamery, has suddenly thrust itself into the top five Creamery favorites.

Imagine that - more people than ever want to have a "Sandusky Blitz" Damn no wonder it's called Happy Valley and Pedophile State University (PSU). It seems like a joke to some of these people. Next to the article is a pic of Sandusky suggesting it's time for a shower.

Do enough people there actually want to overcome this? I really feel sorry for all the victims caught up in this tragic event.

Joe Pa should have seen the proverbial hand writing on the wall a few months back when that player ran into him during fall practices, causing an injury that put Paterno upstairs in the booth. That was a signal that he needed to hang it up at that time--then maybe he would not be embroiled so much in the current controversy, though he would still be accountable & have to answer for whatever his role was in the Sandusky fiasco.
