I'm hoping the game stays at 2:30. Tampa on Sunday in the dome. 2:30 game and air lith home by 8:30

That is, no other network is allowed to air SEC games during that window (with the exception of the ONE prime-time game accorded to CBS under the contract
What night game has CBS chosen for this year? And when do they need to make the selection?

They already aired Bama-Florida in prime-time.

Lol at people who don't think Alabama wants this to be a day game

If Alabama gets this game switched around to get THEIR biggest home game of the year at night then that is some serious bullshite and against compiles the unfairness in the SEC when put head to hear with an Alabama school.
Even if this is true, it's CBS & ESPN doing the switching. You ppl need to relax. Like CBS/ESPN/SEC is out to f*ck LSU over.

Not sure why CBS is doing this. It's a bad deal for them.
It's ratings sweeps period.

frick this. If we can't get our games at night, I don't want ESPN and CBS bending over backwards to get the game at night for Bama. That's just more of an advantage for them.

Doesn't Bama hate night games? How is that an advantage.

Haven't read the thread, is there any legitimacy to this at all?

Seems to me there is much confusion about how all this TV stuff works. First of all, LSU OR Alabama really dont have much say in the matter, they are bound by contract to do pretty much whatever CBS/ESPN wants them to do. When you make a contract with the devil that is one of the consequences.
Second, if the trade is that ESPN gets a pick next year, that means LSU's chance at having another home NIGHT game just went up. ESPN's games are at night, CBS, with one exception per year is at 2:30. CBS likes to make their one night game a year be an early season match for a couple of reasons. One is the sweeps period and the other is that by making the game early, there is less chance that one of the teams has lost a game or had some stars injured.
We generally only get home night games when ESPN is televising them and they don't get first pick, CBS does, so our game has to be up against a more attractive game so that CBS picks that game instead. If TENN was as good as few years ago, CBS would have taken the Bama/Tenn game and the LSU/AUB would have been a night game on ESPN.
Since I generally prefer for whatever OUR game is, to be the more attractive game (cuz we're number one) I really don't mind that CBS keeps picking us. We can't control anything about the situation anyways so we might as well just sit back and enjoy the ride.

i really dont see how this is such a big advantage for bama.
if the game was in baton rouge this year, cbs would still be trying to bend over backwards to make this a night game.
1 vs. 2 in novemember.

this would be great for LSU.
I'll trade a LSU-Alabama game on the road at night for a home game at night in Tiger Stadium next year against Bama. That is the game that ESPN would pick.
BTW, being in primetime would be great for our program as well

Don't think it matters much. I like our chances if we slow down Trent Richardson.

Only source is apparently Tim Brando on the radio. While he does work for CBS so would have some knowledge of it, he doesnt work for ESPN, and has no idea if it is a possibility for them.
If I'm ESPN I say no to this. It leaves them at a huge disadvantage for their primetime game.
