...an annual Thanksgiving Day game against the Aggies? Obviously, we prefer a better opponent anyway, regardless of the butthurt reaction from Austin.

No. What, are we some kind of CUSA team that has to play on Thanksgiving Day to get people to watch.
Make it Saturday so people can have Thanksgiving and then go to the game. Make it Saturday night of Thanksgiving weekend.

I'd be excited too, if I were an Aggie fan and we were finally joining a real conference, but you will find out that traditions between teams in this league are earned. Keep your mouth shut, your head down and just play. The games we played against each other back in the '80's are something to build on, but it's a different bird now that you're in our league. Welcome aboard and good luck.

I kind of like the idea.
For years it's been A&M/UT on Thanksgiving Day, then to turn it into A&M/LSU relegating UT's last game to disappear in the crowd would be like a nice big
to UT. It would make it look like it was A&M keeping the game in the spotlight all those years.

I don't get this. The powers that be made up a shitty trophy called "the boot" about a decade ago to try and spark an LSU/Arkansas rivalry. It's not like playing Arkansas that weekend is some decades long tradition. Maybe I'm an old timer and remember A+M beating us in the early 90's on a regular basis, and having to deal with some Aggie T-shirt fans in my high school in Southwest Louisiana, but I see the LSU/A+M game as a bigger rivalry than Arkansas already.
