Wearing the Nike pro combat for Auburn game seems like perfect timing...

With the bye week and an epic battle with Bama in the near future, I could see us coming out flat for this game. Many of you may disagree with me but as a former player, wearing new uniforms really gets your juices flowing. Everyone is going to want to make their best showing in the new digs.

In addition, a home game versus the defending NC will add to the fire. I'm sure the defense will be tired of hearing about how Auburn rushed for 400 yards on them. I expect us to come out with our A+ game.

I think the whole "pro combat" thing is stupid. If they want us to help them sell merchandise, and give us uniforms in the process, I guess it's ok, but spare me the pro combat crap.

18-21 year old kids get fired up about wearing cool new jerseys. Yes, it certainly has an effect.

Hard to see them fair to midland this year. I have no idea what the problem is with this team.

I didn't say anywhere that it didn't have ab effect on kids, I said that I doubt we need extra motivation from alternate uniforms to be fired up to play the defending NC and long-time bitter rival who rushed for over 400 yds last year...

There is never a GOOD time or GOOD reason to change the most beautiful uniform in college sports! It is so sad that kids today are so shallow that the "shiny object" of a new uniform is the reason they chose to go to a particular univeristy. I guess it's a statement of how dumb young are today.

PS: GET OFF MY LAWN AND THAT BALL IS MINE NOW!!

Why do the addidas 'pro combat' (ND, Mich) or whatever they're called look so much better than all the nike crap?

Oh yeah, the addidas styles are based on football.

quote:

“The Nike Pro Combat series and the Under Armour Maryland uniforms have been getting a lot of attention,” said Adidas America president Patrik Nilsson. “So we held a meeting on how to counter them. After a while, one young designer raised his hand and said: ‘Oooh! I know! Why don’t we make uniforms that don’t look like shite?’”

I say yes. Then unis worked for Michigan State against Michigan. Michigan wore addidas and MSU wore Pro Combat.

I follow a bunch of the players on twitter and they were all talking about wearing the new gear. As long as they win I am all good. It's the Old Farts "Get off my lawn guys" that don't get that today's kids like new gear. LSU has awesome uni's and they won't change but doing it once a year is fine with me and it helps recruiting.
