"I do think there's a large amount of disrespect in taunting and that's not what I'm about," Wing said Monday. "I've never been anywhere near an end zone before. I was so excited and the emotion got the better of me ... and I made a silly mistake."

Talk about class.

It's sad he has to blame himself for a ref poorly interpreting a bad rule and throwing a flag on something only barely noticeable when not on slow motion replay.

The punter scored a touchdown in that game in my eyes and that will never change.

That was a video game taunt if I ever saw one.

He got a first down and gave his team another chance to score.

After the game, a lot of people were of the opinion that he was taunting, without question. The way he comes across, how he looks in the still shots, and his explanation, it seems pretty obvious that he was just beside himself that he was about to score a touchdown.

It was a great play no matter what.

I think it was Ware who said in the post game show, something like he (jokingly) knew Wing would do something to get the TD called back "cuz he always actin a fool..."

Classy statement by Wing.

shite call on a shite rule by a shite ref.

Can't be a kicker for LSU unless you run a 4.4

Classy indeed and will go a long way for any NFL team wanting to draft him in the future (IMO).

If you don't mean to taunt somebody then you're not actually taunting. Murder requires intent or it's involuntary manslaughter. Taunting requires intent or it's merely an involuntary gesture.

I like the rule... in Wing's case, however, it was horribly misapplied.

I think we all knew this without him having to say it. Who gives a frick about the penalty? The football gods know it was a touch down.

As soon as he did it I immediately thought he was taunting. Even if he wasn't that was the perception of many. Obviously he was excited. GREAT play...wish he could have held his emotion 8 more yards. If he wouldn't have turned and looked I don't think they would have called it.

LSU should have been penalized at the spot Wing started the run from. It was the ultimate taunt by Wing, a mere punter, to decide on his own to run for it. LSU should have turned the ball over on downs at 4th and almost 30 because of Wing's egregious taunting.

Its funny that similar things happened in other games that day and it wasnt called. Im with pollack on this one, it was bull and lets stop talking ab it before it pisses me off again.

I see so much taunting by not only lsu defenders, but defenders across the country. It is never called.
