LSU. Win. USA. Win.
Saints gonna make it a trifecta tomorrow.

Sounds like Honduras has a long way to go huh?
They had a lot of chances. The US defense has a long way to go, and it probably starts with benching Orozco-Fiscal.
US created a lot of chances and honestly should have scored 4. 2 basically open goal shots missed and 1 bullshite foul call on a great goal.
Jon Spector's cross =

Did the Honduran midfield move the ball ok? That is what I saw in the gold cup was very little creativity w/ the ball midfield. I also wish Suarez would get Najar in... He could be a spark. Overall i am as cool as i will be with losing if it is 1-nil to USA. Any link to highlights?

Thta makes two of us. We lack killer forwards.
LSU destroyed UF, I'm happy. Now tomorrow SAINTS.

Shouldn't you be more concerned with that job issue?

Highlights
just saw this. Unbeleivable how Bengston missed that one where he was by himself! No killer instinct.
Same for USA...so many missed opportunities!

I'm happy to get the win..... buuuuuuuuuuuttttttt.....
Anybody but Tim Howard in goal, and Jerry Bengston at forward for Honduras, and we give up 5 or 6 goals.
That's frightening to give up that many opportunities to Honduras' B team.
A few takeaways for me:
- I have NO IDEA what Klinsmann sees in Beckerman and Edu that he doesn't see in Bradley. There was a noticeable difference in ability when Bradley came in.
- Beasley is a least a step faster than anyone else in our player pool, Donovan included. He looked like he was shot out of a cannon on that one run down the sideline. He really didn't seem to be "getting it" tactically, even as much as Shea... but sonovabitch is he fast.
- I enjoyed Dempsey's creativity, but there were a couple times that it looked like he could have made the simple play, got cute and didn't connect. It's a fine line that you have with every creative player.
- For the first time under Klinsmann, I saw actual organization. There was a visible difference in play from the 4-1-4-1 to the 4-2-3-1 at the end.
It's really hard to get a read on the game, given the conditions. I'm glad we won, but I'm a little concerned that we could have EASILY lost by a few goals to the weakest opponent we've faced since the group stage of the Gold Cup.
Let's see what Tuesday brings.

There were no WOW moments, but there were no Castillo moments, either.
Very solid play wise, good looking kid physically. I'd like to see more.
Very, very solid, if unspectacular, IMO. At 22 years old, you'd have to think there's room for improvement.

Yeah, I mean he's a consistent starter in the Bundesliga. He's not a wow factor player, he's a consistent, steady guy. I'm pissed that my DVR decided to frick me, sans lube.

Replay on FSC is tonight, I think.

Sheep I agree with your points, but keep this in mind:
We also had trouble finishing our chances, like Honduras. If you say we could have EASILY lost by a few goals, we also could have EASILY blown them out if a Dempsey goal doesn't get called back (for nothing), Gooch finishes on an open net, Shea does the same, etc etc. Just a thought.

It was hard to get a read because of the conditions.
The pessimist in me says that we should have handled THAT Honduras team easily. That was our A team (minus Donovan) versus a Honduras team minus its best forward (Suazo), best midfielder (Palacios) and #1 GK.
The optimist in me says we DID create opportunities that we didn't finish.

I'm trying to be an optimist, too. It's not like we started our best possible roster. Bradley should have been in the middle from the start. Onyewu should have started, too. I'm hoping that as the team gets into the JK groove we will start finishing our chances. I'm crossing my fingers. But I generally agree with you that yes, I would like us to look better against Honduras' B team.

Is this game worth watching a replay? Is it on espn3? Been a football(american) sunday for me thus far.
