I agree.

B1G should have split like this:

West (Central Time):
Nebraska
Iowa
Minnesota
Wisconsin
Northwestern
Illinois

East (Eastern Time):
Michigan
Michigan State
Indiana
Purdue
Ohio State
Penn State

Would have worked out just fine.

They were afraid that having Ohio State and Michigan in the same division with Penn State would be too much power in one division. But I think Wisconsin, Nebraska and Iowa could give them a run for their money.

Expansion would seem to benefit those on the Western borders of the conference the most. Alabama can go north, south, east, and west and be recruiting in SEC country. Prior to expansion, LSU and Arkansas could not do that.

Correct on all fronts.

Arkansas and LSU can finally take advantage of something all the interior schools had in the SEC.

Arkansas is about to have multiple Fan bases travels through the state to get to Ole Miss, MSU, Arkansas, LSU, TAMU and Vanderbilt.

This literally helps the entire Conference.. The western most team (TAMU) resides in the most talent base (providing more balance with the former western most schools Arkansas and LSU) and Kentucky picks up a team as north as they are and some basketball heat.
