Looking for great restaurants and bars in SA. TIA.

What part of town? Or does it matter?
Eta:
Riverwalk - Acenar (Urban Mexican - Next to Hotel Valencia)
King William District - Rosario (Mexican)
Close to downtown - Little Red Barn (so-so place to get a steak, neat atmosphere - waitresses wear holsters and pearl handled revolvers.)
Hwy 281 @ the Quarry Market - Paesanos (Italian)& chains like PF Changs & J. Alexander's
Blanco and 1604 - Longhorn Cafe (Burgers)
Also on 1604 around 281 and Stone Oak Pky = Stone Werks / Silo (also by the airport) / Houlihan's / Copa Wine Bar / Reggiano's - and some other good places
Fiesta TX (I-10) - County Line BBQ / Pappacito's (Tex Mex)
Lots of chains all over San Antonio
I don't know about the south side.

i've said it a thousand times... i'm a Mi Tieras fan.. ride the trolley, go to the market, buy cheap blankets and vanilla extract and then go next door and eat cabrito..

I was over there the other day. We ate at Fogo de Chao. Very good but also expensive as it's one of the Brazilian steakhouses. Assuming you'll be going to the Riverwalk, there are tons of restaurants over there (including Fogo de Chao). Boudro's is really good. Theres also lots of bars on the RW, like Martini Bars, pubs, there's a Hard Rock Cafe, etc. You'll find something

Geauxt, you are a cannibal.

I'm sure we'll be staying around the RW. I found other posts on this board as well. Any good high end cocktail bars?

I have not been to either, but you could try Posh Ultra Lounge on Broadway, or Club Cohiba on Navarro.
If they suck, be sure to tell us.
I typically stick to lounges in restaurants / hotels near the River Walk. I like Hotel Valencia, or for a historical vibe you could check out the bar in the Menger (sp?)

I haven't been in a few years, but we had a great time at Dirty Nelly's Irish Pub on the riverwalk. They had a piano player/comedian there, the night we went, who put on a show.

Paesano's FTMFW.
Beef tenderloin is the best steak in Texas and it's not even up for discussion. The shrimp paesano is the best appetizer in town as well. The 1604 location is much better than the RW location, IMO.
You should also try Rudy's BBQ for the experience. You can get awesome authentic Mexican food all around town at the aforementioned locations as well.

Can't go wrong with the Fig Tree if you're on the River Walk
Also any Mexican or Tex Mex you get is probably going to be great. I wouldn't even know where to begin with that. I'd go to the mercado and grab a taco at some point and maybe check out the shops
I'll warn you though, they sell the same shite in a lot of the shops and the prices vary so if you are gonna go there walk around before you buy ANYTHING
ETA: Here is a link to the Fig Tree
Not cheap but really good food.
